10-man Baron run

January 10, 2006 By Gitr 4 Comments

Gitr has made it to the big time! I’ll avoid the talking for this post and let the pictures to the talking.

After all of that excitement, I got my second +15 AGI enchant on my Dawn’s Edges. I sent Druidr some lesser healing potions and logged in to level him and to kill Hogger while still an 11. I did it. That’s all there is to it, folks. Druids rock.

The trick to playing druid is simply to keep your health high enough to continue wearing them down with the bear form, and I suppose also to rip them apart in cat form. The order of action was:
Roots, wrath, wrath, wrath, wrath, arcane, bear form, druid form, lesser healing potion, bear form, druid form, healing touch, arcane, bear form, Hogger dies. That was fun, let’s do it again.

Not really a comment on your raid but… I noticed you have skinning and herbalism…. how is that working out for you as a source of income?

    Those 2 are really big.

Skinning took about 4 hours to go from Elwynn Forest to skinning 30s in STV. That gets you heavy leather. On Kargath, heavy leather sells for about 75s. Thick leather for about 95s. Rugged leather sold for me yesterday for 1g 45s. I went to Un’goro Crater and started grinding raptors. I got 7 stacks of thick leather, 3 stacks of rugged leather, and 16 raptor fleshes. Prices are going very nicely now with the competition for things that can be turned in. After an hour with the raptors, I probably made 16g in leather, soil, and VT.

Herbalism is going much slower, but it would already be uber-profitable if I wasn’t sending everything to Grimr for making potions. Kingsblood is in the neighborhood of 4g per stack and Swifthistle is something like 7g. I haven’t noticed other prices as being WOW, but nothing at my level now goes for less than 5g per stack. With a mount and gatherer, you can make a lot in no time if you don’t have to fight things while collecting.

I’ve always have done mining and herbalism as my main skills on other toons. With this one being a hunter it makes it tedious to keep switching the mini map to mining-herb-tracking humans(for anti ganking reasons)-tracking mobs (for grinding/questing). I’ll check out the leather prices and then try to determine which skill to drop (mining or herb).

Also, how ‘old’ is your realm? How long has it been active?

    Ttks for the feed back.

Kargath is fully mature and fully full with all the lag that comes with that. I know that it’s been up since Thanksgiving of 2004.
