Lockr hit level 18 last night and is totally decked out. What do you consider “decked out,” Gitr? How about 5 equipped rare items that bring his mana up to 1402 at his level? Killing things is downright silly now. He actually has 8 blues, but can’t equip them all, one is a 2H mace, one is an extra weapon, and one needs to wait until level 19.
When I logged in last night, I asked Arrakis to run me through Deadmines until I got Cookie’s Stirring Rod. On the first go-through, it dropped, but that wasn’t all. Here is the loot list for my two Deadmine’s runs:
Lockr also has the best quest rewards available for his level (and one high above his).
And… then there’s the silly purchase just because he had so much money:
This is how I should have done Gitr and Grimr, but then I didn’t have such good friends in a guild that would just take 20-30 minutes and run me through an instance that I have no business being in just to get some loot or a quest item for something 16 levels higher than my toon. Now I do. I’m lovin’ it.
Holy cats it’s good to see that at least one of us is still posting these days 🙂
Great site – sorry I haven’t been out to comment more lately.
Working on getting mine running again and getting my head back into blogging and less into guilding 😉
So how do you like playing a cloth wearer so far? I don’t know if I could hack that 😉
I’ve gotten my first warrior to 40 and am scrambling for bits of plate and never wanting to put on leather or robes again!
Well, if you look at Zapit sitting at level 16 for months, it’s because he’s a cloth wearer who can’t stop getting hit. At least with a ‘lock, he has a tank or extra dps. With my druid, I have healing ability. If a mage had either of those, I’d be willing to take mage a little further.
Admittedly, Lockr’s decked out, which may impact how I’d play my mage, but I’m not sure I’d want a mage’s roll in end-game content, though. Come to think of it, I might not like warlock, either, but I could have some fun in PvP using the fear that is always getting me as a warrior. That would be satisfying. When I hit 19, I MIGHT sit in WSG for a bit and get some honor, but I really want to hit 20 so I can get tailoring up to 250 and make some really valuable stuff for the AH.
Glad to see you on last night.
Yeah – my original main on TN (Sequoia) is a level 50 druid. I enjoy him – but it seems the higher you get the more pigeon holed you get as well. Once you start getting into the 50’s it seems that folks more and more start pushing you towards respeccing Resto and putting on the cloth.
I’ve done some of this and use [Item Rack] to quickly equip different sets of gear based on the role I happen to be needed for. Cloth, high INT leather, and an INT filled staff for caster duty, and heavier gear for tanking. I tend to avoid the dps roll that leaves me in cat though as that form has becoming increasingly squishy in big fights.
