Now that Gnomicidal has brought it up, and I am blocked almost every turn I make at work, I’m assuming that this is the game that he is talking about:
I found a lot of stuff written about it on Wikipedia, but there are a lot of gaps in there that I amรย sure are on the developer and gaming sites.
My overwhelming question is: is it a free subscription? It looks like Sony has the rights to subscriptions, but there is no price mentioned, if there is one. My take on this pretty much stands as being grounded in WoW. Now that I’ve already spent the money to buy the game and the months of fees, I’m either going to get the expansion or switch to Guild Wars. I just won’t have much time to be playing games after getting married, anyway.
The graphics look cool, but I think my geeking should be limited to buying cool hardware and a few high-end games that push the limit, but don’t suck you into a hole for hours at a time. I am looking forward to playing Project Offset when it gets off the ground. The graphics are just mind-blowing. After an upgrade, I’ll surely be getting Doom 3 and Quake 4. I’ve got quite a bit of freelancing to do before I go down that road, though.
Yes that is the Vanguard I was refering to.
Check out Silky Venom website http://www.silkyvenom.com. My work security does not block access to the site and it appears to be the premier community site for the game. Their FAQ is the most complete I’ve seen for any game. They also run a wiki for Vanguard via the site. Full of good info.
I bought Guild Wars Factions last week. Not overly impressed with the game mechanics and am ticked I spent money for it.
If you like strategy type games check out Company of Heroes.
Our company uses Websense, and it’s categorized as “Games.” I’ll check that out at home, though.
