Reporting From Kargath

November 18, 2006 By Gitr 9 Comments

Deadr got off his butt and ran all the way from Tauren Mill to Kargath in Badlands this morning. No PvP deaths to speak of. I only saw one Alliance player: a 37 hunter in the middle of fighting a coyote in Badlands. I went to Hammerfall along the way to pick up the flight point and a couple of Arathi Highland quests that I’m going to dump now that I made it to Badlands. Gitr did a LOT of grinding in the upper 30s to about 43 there. Deadr will do the same.

I did die once. It was completely stupid. I was going East in Wetlands thinking that off on the edge was a Horde town because it was somewhere Gitr never went. I switched to the map after I discovered the new area, the gates to Grim Batol. I have never seen anything about Grim Batol, so I’ll have to look that up at home. Anyway, I was on auto-run and switched back to see Deadr get two-shotted into deadness.

I healer rezzed and started running for Dun Algaz with my bubble up. I thought I would be able to get a wind rider point halfway through the tunnels, but they were Dragonmaw orcs, and not very friendly. Knowing I was almost there and not about to meet any mobs that could kill me before my 10 minute sickness wore off, I was re-energized and got to Kargath before I knew it.

Now for some good grinding with minimal bother in the early morning. Note: I also changed my hearth home back to Undercity.

Getting closer to your mount level!

I’ve never really taken to playing a horde character, have tried an Undead Mage before but sorry not for me.

Horde Bloggers seem to be few & far between also…I think Deadr’s here is the second I have read but maybe I’m not looking hard enough.

Do you prefer alliance or horde?

ahhh the badlands…how i loved the badlands..for me (and probably still is) the best money i can make there. Since i am a Hunter w/ skinning boy o boy i can stay there for days farming for leather..not to mention going east in the badlands adn trying for those dragon scales hehe ๐Ÿ™‚

Dont know what your profession(s) is(are) but badlands will level you up quickly!!

And going along with DM yeah i havent seen much of horde blogs. Besides Kinless (another excellent horde blog) this is another. Great blog keep it up!

    Thanks for the kudos, guys.

Excaliber, I’m a skinning (255 or so) miner (140 or so), but you can click my Deadr profile in the sidebar to track that progress.

I think I still prefer Alliance because I’m so used to them and their looks and attributes. I have yet to raid with Horde, so I’m not as familiar with their racials and the like. That, and I don’t much care for the looks of the trolls or undead.

I will hit 40 this week. I have Thursday and Friday off for Thanksgiving, but my wife is working Friday. For Christmas, my company takes the 23rd thru January 2nd off, so I should get into the upper 40s or 50s then.

I started an orc rogue last night and have killed 4 boars so far. I want to make a blacksmith and tailor to compliment Deadr.

I have so much money in auctions right now, if some of them sell, I’m all set. I believe it is 90g, but the prices changed, so I’m still confused about that. I’ll have to check that gold guide again because it had the new prices.

Yes Auctioneer is a good tool to have but I have to make sure & remember to scan auctions every couple of weeks to update pricing.

A guild member has just said that prices for ore/bars seem to be overpriced & this is probably due to BC new profession Gemcrafting requiring ores & bars, as well as gems of course…any sign of this on your servers?

No sign of it yet, but I scan twice or 3 times per day. That is how you get the latest auctions to buy/bid on.

I won’t be doing jewel crap because I think it will be nuts. There will be a mad race to 300 and stuff will be available on the cheap for a few weeks for me to hold on to until prices level out. ๐Ÿ™‚
