My Boxes of Hope drive has come to an end

November 20, 2006 By Gitr 7 Comments

As promised, I made a donation to Metropolitan Ministries today for the Boxes of Hope.

Here is my PayPal account and the receipt letter:

November 20, 2006

Dear Mr. Petersen:

Your gift of $38.23 is such a blessing. Thank you for reaching out to our community’s homeless and hurting men, women and children through your support of Metropolitan Ministries.

So many people in Tampa Bay are struggling right now. Thousands of elderly people … single mothers with children … and recently laid-off or underemployed workers are facing the possibility of being homeless for the first time.

With your kindness, you have made it possible for them to access life-changing programs at the Ministries that can get them back on their feet and give them hope.

The good news is: Lives are being changed. Families are being restored.

When we work together, so much is possible. It takes ALL of us to make a difference.

Thank you again for your generosity.

Peace,

Morris E. Hintzman
President

LOL, you have been doing some reading!

I post a lot during the day because it’s been slow at work lately. December will be a different story, though with proposals coming due before our 10 day break. I’ll basically work 16-hour days for 3-day weekends twice in a row. Nice overtime for Christmas presents. ๐Ÿ™‚

Work isn’t that bad, really. It is actually a lot better than high school was, but not as good as college. I worked full-time during the end of college and I really envied the students who still lived at home and didn’t pay any bills and just went to school.

Work is nice because you get to spend the money you earn and after so many days of work, they pay you for not being at work. I get paid to go to Disney now and stuff like that. It’s pretty fun to be driving to Orlando with your girlfriend and say, “I’ve already made $20 being with you today.” ๐Ÿ™‚

The problem with work is, unless they fire them, you have to keep working with annoying people because we don’t switch every 50 minutes. I have to listen to a cubemate sniff and snort all day because she won’t blow her nose. And she doesn’t even have a cold. She smokes, and I think that’s why. That sucks.
