Relmstein has a very nice post about playing in STV on a PvP server on his blog:

A lot of thought went into that post, as well as my reply, which was quickly erased when I tried to log in my comment with my Blogger account…
Let me put it this way: I HATE BLOGGER BETA!! Every time you comment and try to log in with your NEW information, it takes you to log into your Google account and clears your comment field when it comes back. So, from now on, if I like your post, I will trackback it here, and make my comment here. Sorry, but it’s happened too many times.
My comment on STV:
You are sooo right about not playing during primetime. I have had a lot of success playing at about 5-9am server time so far. Now that I am level 40, the chances are if I see someone that early from the other faction, it is someone my level or lower trying to do the same thing as me. Last Friday, I /waved at a level 39 mage and took out a level 36 hunter who had (sadly) just been attacked by two tigers. I almost felt sorry for him, but now that I’ve been ganked dozens of times, it is MY turn, dang it!
I have a very good strategy concerning approaching Nesingwary’s Expedition as an Undead player. If you approach from the coastline, up the plateau of panthers and Lashtail Raptors, you can come down near the waterfall in the river. Jump in the river and swim there far enough underwater that your name does not show.
In reverse, to flee you need to employ a similar tactic. I have fooled several players by heading toward the waterfall underwater while they run on land to catch up. Meanwhile, I have already reversed direction and either stay there for as long as my cool Undead racial ability allows, or come up on the East side of the graveyard. It won’t work for every time, but not every player is smart, either.
