Remember the day you first installed WoW? It was a great day. Warcraft 3 was so graphically sublime and the gameplay rocked and the storyline was something a writer would be proud of. What more could Blizzard have in store for me now?
I read the entire manual while it installed, and was ready to pull the trigger on a hunter, no pun intended. I looked at all the race/sex options I had, and decided to go with a male dwarf. Wait! He is going to have whatever name I give him forever. It was not something to make a snap decision about, so I Googled for Celtic and Norse male names and came across Grimr. I liked it, a lot.
My first 2 hours were the most intuitive, creative, and rewarding gaming experience I had ever had. I made it to level 5 or 6, had killed nearly everything in the noob area, and was running through the countryside with no idea where I was going.
I played with the game as it was out of the box for about 2 weeks until one co-worker asked me what UI mods I had installed so far. Mods? What mods?ย My toolbar was nearly full of shots, abilities, and items. I was constantly updating what was where on the toolbars and getting confused about where things were. I got Titan and Bagnon. Those two alone were revolutionary to me.
With Deadr, I have a bar mod, bag/bank/mail mod, healing mod, auction mods, and updated unit frames. When I logged in last night, they were ALL gone. Blizzard wasn’t kidding about that part of the patch. Since I couldn’t make any money, I bought some supplies for my alts, crafted, and logged. The UI sites were backed up so much this morning that I couldn’t even get in to get the new copy of Auctioneer. I guess I’ll have to wait until tonight.
If you’re using ACE based addons (which you should :P) wowace.com/files is up and running.
Yes, I am. Thanks for the link.
WoW Insider says Auctioneer might be out for two weeks. (School work.)
