If there is one reason to buy the expansion, then let me just say the loot is awesome! Forget that you can level up. Forget new dungeons. Spend a few hours doing quests and then go back and play your old dungeons with new vigor. Not that you will wantย to go back there or forget about leveling or playing new instances, but you do have that option. ๐ย
I haven’t quite finished processing the graphics yet, but I finished 2 quests this morning before work. In both cases, the reward was better than Strat/Scholo/UBRS/LBRS blues. How many of us ran UBRS 70 times trying to get the Dal’Rend set, or the chestpiece from Drakk?
This loot is disgusting (* denotes what I chose):
Path of Anguish rewards:
Screaming Dagger
Rage Reaver *
The Staff of Twin Worlds
Agamaggan’s Quill
Foe Reaver
Waste Not, Want Not rewards:
Phantasmal Headdress
Legionnaire’s Studded Helm
Battle Seeker Chestguard
Magistrate’s Greavesย *
Fel Orc Scavengers rewards:
Desolation Rod
Adamantine Kite Shield
Landslide Buckler
Hellfire Skiverย *
Ironstar Repeater
On Fel Orc Scavengers Liber went for the Desolation Rod reward. The previous wand was a fire on which had its limits & was nowhere near as beneficial as the wand is!
Must agree that the expansion is worth it for the loot..maybe also Jewelcrafting & alliance Shaman class.
I really wish I could redo the Path of Anguish quest. I would pick up the dagger or sword instead of the 2H axe. I had just woken up and I was too tired to realize that it was a 2H axe and my skills are only around 195. ๐
Can quickly level up weapon skills on the servants in Blasted Lands. Pull them away from their crystal, knock them down to 1%, let them ghost, when they reappear, they are immortal. Skill at will. They don’t hit very hard at all.
Oh yeah!! I’d completely forgotten about them! And they are right there by the Portal. I can skill up my daggers and 2H weaps tonight.
Many thanks for the reminder.
Enjoy! It was pointed out by a guildmate. He sat pounding on one for 4 hours before release with one of each weapon, vendor bought, just so he’d be ready to equip whatever weapon he got via quest.
As I play casters, my weapon skill doesn’t matter. I did level up my H2H skill for giggles a fun way – use the Torch of Retribution from the Burning Steppes quest on critters in newbie zones. It won’t get hurt, but it agros, and you get H2H skillups.
