I have removed my Google Adsense ads on my main page and my Commission Junction ads on my individual post pages for three reasons today:
- It was really taking away from the look of the site that I worked so hard on.
- Just about every ad was for powerleveling and WoW gold, which the latter I don’t condone.
- Nothing was happening on the advertising front.
I’m not doing this blog for money, but as an excellent release of my fun, passion, and skills into something that I can share with the world. In the ads’ places, I put a PayPal donation link. Nice and simple, nothing gaudy or attention-getting. I don’t need the money, but who am I to say that people can’t give if they feel led to?
