Deadr ….::::60::::….

February 1, 2007 By Gitr 11 Comments

Deadr dinged 60 at 10:55pm EST tonight after a run in Hellfire Ramparts with a playtime of 11days 21hours 37minutes.

I logged on an immediately called out to Aeigelus for a Ramparts run, but there was some miscommunication, probably on my part, that I was wanting to run on Friday. So I put out a call for others to join and immediately got 2 takers, Slickv and Ninjamaster. We started heading there and had Gorelord join us as a 62 warrior. He made it known that I was too low to be main healer and I was removed from the group…that I started.

It was Gitr memories all over again. I fought back and pretty much said that I started the group and if someone didn’t want to run with me in the group that they were more than welcome to find their own group, but I wasn’t going to stand for having my run hi-jacked. I got re-invited and our ‘lock decided he didn’t want to stay, so we found a 60 Druid with some nice bark gear. He had more mana and health than me.

On the way to the instance, we all got hit by a NE rogue on the ramp leading in. Well, I got ganked. Gorelord got critted for 3k and got inside intime. She was a 62 and was stealthed. Hit me with a stun and finished the job before I could scream. For public shame, her name is Landor of the guild Sojourn. /spit

Once we got inside and rolling, I started to experience severe computing power issues. I was running at a stinking 3.3 fps, when it was good! We wiped 5 minutes into the run because of my framerate. I couldn’t move out of the way of the doggie patrol on the ramparts, and we soon had 6 mobs on us instead of 3. That would be out last wipe until Omor the Unscarred. I remembered I had 8x anti-aliasing turned on for screenshots and turned that off. My framerates improved enough to continue then. Shoot, I had 60 fps in the tunnel leading to the last 2 bosses.

We rounded the corner of the ramparts and cleared out the area to take down Watchkeeper Gargolmar. He was super-easy as far as I am concerned. I didn’t notice any special issues that affected me as a healer. I was able to cast the entire time. I know that at one point in the night I had to use my Undead racial to get my control back, but I really don’t remember who it was for or when that was.

We wiped on our first attempt at Omor because 2 people didn’t know that he spawns felhounds. Dragonis the druid was getting his butt kicked after I was the first to go down for 2 Greater Heals on the tank. I was down before I knew it.  Dragonis died the second time as I was putting a heal on him, but we finished the fight anyway.

Time to move on to Vazruden and Nazan. This is where the story gets really good, and not because of the fight. We wiped. The reason: Nature Call. Yeah. I’m watching the druid taking damage and not healing himself. He’s also not healing anyone else. He dies. We all die. For this:

I got all 3 pieces for the quest [62D] Weaken the Ramparts and collected my Mantle of Magical Might. Schweeet. Tonight, I’m going for my Deadly Borer Leggings from the next quest in Blood Furnace. I turned in an Ominous Letter off of Vazruden to start a quest that has this letter. For more lore on this, PLEASE visit Know Your Lore: Illidan at WoW Insider. It’s a really great read.

After all of that, I was at 95% and went to kill Voidwalkers South of the Zeppelin Crash. It only took about 10 minutes. That, folks, is Deadr’s story to 60, but the story continues to 70. Stick around.

nice to have 2 60+ characters…does that mean a break is due? LOL?

I have been out of game for 3 days now…looking forward to heading back in over the weekend! I need to sort those addons…

There won’t be any self-imposed pressure to level now, but I think I will still play him nearly every night. You level pretty fast by logging in an inn and coming back in the morning to burn through 18% rest, and the same for waking up in the morning. I get 36% rest XP every day.

This morning, I ran to Falcon Watch, killed 2 pigs, and was at 4k XP for the level.

I may play Bloodr after getting Deadr out of rest each day, but the XP is too easy to care.

Grats! It looks like it would take 15 days avg to lvl to 60.
Off topic here, I don’t really understand the purpose of rest XP when u log in an INN. I do that but don’t really see any increase in XP.
Also not sure if its related, but when I kill a mob I get like 300xp then after 3 or 4 kills it goes back down to 150xp per kill.

That’s what rest XP does. It doubles your XP until you’re out of rest. See the little mark on your XP bar when you log in? That’s how much rest you have. Get a decent addon and it will tell you how many points you have until normal and cool stuff like that.
