How Many Sets Do You Own?

February 20, 2007 By Gitr 6 Comments

I am sad to say that neither Gitr or Deadr have any complete sets of dungeon armor, but I was wondering if that is all that uncommon among casual players. I had the 3 BoE pieces of Devout for Deadr, but those were quickly replaced by Outland gear. Gitr has 6 pieces of Valor and even got 3 upgrades by doing the quests, but I can’t see the point in going for the helm or breastplate now. It’s not like I never ran UBRS or Scholo, they just never dropped.

I know the hardcore gamers like Aeigelus have several complete sets, but how about you? Here was Gitr’s last update on his set:

I have 8/8 Sorcerer, 6/8 Arcanist, 5/8 Netherwind and 4/5 Incanter. Netherwind was somewhat useful thanks to the 3-piece and 5-piece bonuses, but Incanter was big letdown.

Only ever had the 3 BOE peics for Mindkiller, I even went and upgraded them before the BC to Darkmantle. Never needed the other stuff and didnt raid enough to et them even if I did want them. I am more into the accumulation of wealth instead of items. More people are keyeed on items while I get the gold. SO if I see something I want I can buy it. Would have loved the T2 set just for the look. We will see how easy it is to get the new Tier stuff after I hit 70 and go through all the garbage for attunments.

It would be nice if Blizzard would allow you to get the best uber-gear possible by doing ridiculously long and expensive quests instead of joining a hardcore guild and raiding to the point of losing your life to a game. I guess that’s what I like about Warcraft 3…the Heros get good stuff anyway. ๐Ÿ™‚

That would be a big fat “ZERO” for me. I have not even one piece of dungeon one. The reasoning is running a big raid or dungeon is time consuming, and getting a group together is a pain, and I don’t always have the time to do it. I suppose if I made a plea to join the big uber guilds to get the stuff I could, but really I have no desire – it isn’t fun if I have to treat it as a job. Which is why I am liking the drops in Outland so much – most of it is just as good as some of the dungeon gear anyway.

Good gear that doesn’t require raids is called Arena gear.

And if it makes you feel better, Tier 3 sets also required crafting materials in addition to the bind-on-pickup drop from the boss.

I must give a little background for this. My rogue was my main in the begining and we started a guild called Unknown soldiers. We being me, a guy I work with and his wife. Our guild grew into a monster 250+ active accounts. Durring the growth of our guild we had started “gearing up” in all the 5 mans. Anywho Tarl, my sneaky oafish orc got 6 peices of SC (-shoulders and legs) before we started raiding MC and my RL friends in the guild started not liking the new leadership. Ogreslayer “my warrior” had all but the chest and legs. The guild we created after leaving (US guild) was about when wind that BC wasn’t comming out for a while so those of us that moved to the new guild had been focusing on getting the dungeon 2 sets. I ended up tanking scholomance, strat and UBRS more times than I’d like to remember but because most of the time we were guildies working together we never had issues. A lot of people were able to get their full D2 sets but rend wouldn;’t drop trou and drakk wouldn’t drop chest. /sigh
(sidenote) 2 of the D2 peices were good for tanking Pre-BC… And a shaman “outrolled” me on DD of drakk!! >.
