I cracked myself up with my wittiness yesterday on the way back from St. Hubert’s last night. For those of us not familiar with this Canadian eatery, it’s rotisserie chicken with excellent gravy/sauce that my wife dubbed dip-dip as a toddler. I ate a half-chicken and was quite pleased with the quality, especially the skin.
Back to the crack-up…I would love (nearly) nothing more than to stop and take a picture of everything that strikes me as funny or odd on roadtrips. I saw a tractor crossing sign on the outskirts of Orleans, practically in-town. It struck me as odd, thinking that farmer Bob was going to come out of his driveway onto the main 5-lane drag on his John Deere. That led to what was REALLY funny to me.
My Grandpa and his best friend opened a John Deere dealership in their small town in Galion, Ohio back in the 50s. I remember going there as a grade-schooler and getting in the big equipment and looking at the toys. To this day, we get him Deere paraphernalia for Christmases and birthdays.
I couldn’t help but make this equation in my mind:
“Deere” X-ing! LOL!!
…..I might be off a little here…but it might be time to invest in an O2 bottle. I think the altitude is getting to ya.
St-Hubert is my favorite place. They deliver and know me by my first name.
Next time, try replacing the fries with a Poutine ๐ its fries with cheese and gravy on top. Tasty.
That’s awesome! The wife and I are going again on Friday.
Crazy Canadidians. Messin with the fries. Sacralidge, sacre bleu,…….did you say gravy?…hhhmmm. Gravy belons on potatos not fires….so there.
I think that gravy would be great on fries not to mention that I have enjoyed many a hot turkey sandwich with gravy all over my fries.. But I haven’t had any of those since I was back east in Pennsylvania that one summer when I was 13…OH SO LONG AGO!… right..
~This is Snow…~ I think that here in California near the border like in Sand Diego we have you beat… There are actually signs that show a mother and father figure along with a small child crossing posted along major freeways.. I almost peed my pants when I saw my first one… Don’t believe me check this out… Its a San Diego news release…
