Blizzard Supports Sweatshops

March 6, 2007 By Gitr 11 Comments

I stumbled across a deep, dark secret of Azeroth yesterday, and it finally dawned on me as to what I was seeing. If you make your way to the Bazaar in Silvermoon, there is an excellent tailor who set up her shop there under the name Keelen Sheets.

What the public doesn’t know is that there are underpaid, or even enslaved gnomes working downstairs. It all started innocently enough, but it turned ugly after a while. I was using the mana loom to make some Imbued Netherweave Bolts, and I noticed that there were curtains to a back room. Being one of the regulars in her fine shop, I felt quite comfortable to venture back there to see what she keeps behind the curtains.

I almost wish I hadn’t, as the sight of those poor gnomes will stick with me forever. Working shirtless and with great speed, I saw several gnomes working over looms and one was taking a quick break on the carpet at the bottom of the stairs.

To my horror, a succubus, who answers to the name Sirigna’no (say that 5 times fast), was playing the part of taskmaster with a whip. A whip! Before too long, she saw the sleeping worker and whipped him, too. And then she came after me. Well, I’ll tell you this, I had a few things to say to her. Too bad she didn’t care, because she kept walking…right through me, in fact.

I’m going to have to take this to someone on city counsel, because this is just wrong! Keelen can make her own darn sheets when I’m done with this.

(Ed. I’m sure Blizz doesn’t support sweatshops, but it got you to click, didn’t it?)

You are way behind on this bud. Wiffle found this out a looong time ago. This is also prevelent in Undercity where slaves are treated much worse.

Sorry, Whiffle. I’m a bit behind the times and must have missed your tale during the craziness here. If it was in RSS, I would have gotten.

Let it be known … and this is no secret to anyone … I have very serious issues with this.

If ever Alliance decide to pay a serious visit to Silvermoon, I will be the first to put an end to this practise.

As if the Troggs in Gnomeregan weren’t enough!!

It’s all good because they’re just doing the jobs that Blood Elves don’t want to do, they’re hard working and with those tiny nimble fingers the quality is pretty darn impressive. WoW parodies ftw!

What is with all this gnome hating animosity? We are the world….we are the children. We are the ones that make Gnomish Universal Remotes that work on level 71 ELITE Fel Reavers. Step up and get squished.
