I visited Nasmara Moonsong in Lower City of Shattrath last night to pick up a much cheaper copy of Primal Mooncloth than what was listed in the AH. To my delight, it was only a 4g recipe. I saw that she was also a questgiver, and one for a tailoring specialty, to boot. I checked the other two specializations of Tailoring and picked Mooncloth for one reason, I want to be able to use the bags that I craft. The Shadowcloth 20-slot bag is for Warlocks only. I am obviously drawn to the power of those crafted pieces with +Shadow dmg, but what the heck good is a bag that I can’t use. Besides, I can always use the +Healing gear in instances that take just a bit more umph for healing while remaining Shadow spec for VE healing and soloing.
Back to Moonsong. She’s located at 66,69 in Shattrath City and gives the quest Becoming a Mooncloth Tailor. She gives you a Square of Imbued Netherweave, which you need to take to the moonwell in Cenarian Refuge in Zangarmarsh. That done, I received 11,000xp and became a Mooncloth Tailor. The basic recipe for Mooncloth Tailoring is Primal Mooncloth, which has a 96 hour (4 days for those mathmatically challenged) cooldown and requires 350 skill in Tailoring. The advantage of choosing a specialty is that you create 2 pieces of the basic cloth for your specialty instead of one, effectively doubling your rate of crafting and your income if you’re selling, and cutting your cost of mats in half.
Let’s break it down, as far as my server goes. A stack of Netherweave Cloth goes for 5g day and night. I often get it for 4ish, but not as many stacks. A Bolt of Imbued Netherweave goes for 9.5g. Seeing as how it takes 4g worth of Arcane Dust to create an Imbued Bolt, I’m going to start buying those instead of making them (unless I start farming for Netherweave Cloth — WHAT AN IDEA!!). Then, the recipe calls for a Primal Water (20g) and a Primal Life (8g) and a moonwell under your feet.
Before you read to find out, do you want to venture a guess as to how much a Primal Mooncloth goes for? I was figuring it would be about 30g because when I was guessing, I figured that if you can use the cloth, you can make it. I wasn’t calculating people wanting to buy it to have guildies craft for them or for impatient Tailors just wanting to make something right away. I can’t imagine waiting to build up 12 Primal Mooncloth. Wait, yes I can. I saved up mats for a Lionheart Helm back in the day with 3 day cooldowns on Arcanite Bars. The grand answer is a whopping 60g, which I sold two of because of my specialty.
Now for a discussion on changing professions after I go down to the cafeteria for breakfast.
