I have been playing with the talent trees for Bloodr online today, and I think I found one that will rock pretty hard when I hit 70. I will be putting everything into BM until 30, then put 5 points into Improved Concussive Shot, and go back to BM until I finish out those skills according to my plan. Level 70 spec: 42/19/0.
Here are the screenshots, as promised:
Feedback is welcome, incouraged, and I daresay expected. ๐

I would suggest talking to BRK on the issue he seems to be the Resident Blogging Hunter. He had a really good and long post on the first 40 points that should go into BM if thats the build your going for. Also as he states you have to take agility over armor no matter what.
Wow. Smack, that’s nice. He did a great job. And I did a sucky job with my first 5 points right out of the chute. LOL.
Yeah you kinda owned yourself on that one. I was just reading your respeccing guide so its a good thing you are leveling so you can just fix the mistake as you go.
In true form to my personality:
Hi, I’m level 24, and I need to respec now.
/snork
LOL. i have actually only respecced twice once when it was free and then the 2nd time when i couldnt kill mobs fast enough in Prot spec. now i am arms specced and love it. i suck at tanking anyway i have thought of leaving my Warrior behind in the dust but i put so much time into him i want him at 70.
A couple of comments if you don’t mind ๐
1) Pathfinding isnt worth the talent points. You would be better to spend the points in Imp. Mend Pet (just 1 point, so you can spam Rank 1 Mend Pet to remove debuffs) and Imp. Revive Pet.
2) I would choose Endurance Training over Imp. Aspect of the Hawk. Imp. AotH is more of a Marks talent, and you are looking to improve your pet as much as possible in a BM build, otherwise it is wasted.
3) Concussive shot is pretty mana innefficient, so I would get rid of the points in that, and spend em in Lethal Shots. More damage is gooooood ๐
4) Imp. Arcane Shot is useless with your attack speed improved from Serpent’s Swiftness. 1 thing I would say, is maybe keep Imp. Arcane Shot until you get Steady Shot at 62, then drop it for something else, since Steady Shot will be most of your shots in the rotation.
5) Imp. Hunters Mark & Efficiency are pretty much a wash. Very hard to decide between ๐
Here is a spec I put together…
Aeigelus’ Suggested Build
Thanks, Aeig. I knew I could count on your input. Looks like I’m respeccing tonight no matter what.
I would also recommend looking at BRK’s build. As much as I hate the arrogance of that guy, he talks a goods show. The math stands up to. I do agree with him that Imp mend and imp revive are a waste. His build places heavy emphasis on the relationship between hunter and pet. I actually did the same build on my hunter(43). I have yet to really work him over in the new build, but the power seems over the top.
It’s tough for me to comment here since my hunters are all PvP toys in the 29 and 39 brackets. Both are primarily marksman and/or survival based for WSG/AB. I subscribe to BRK’s belief that melee hunters *shouldn’t* – but in the old Survival tree there were a lot of handy skills that could keep a smart (wing-clip happy) hunter alive and pouring out the dps. In battlegrounds – pets are really an annoyance more than anything else. Big red ones used to be the terror of the bg’s – but that’s mitigated a bit now and *most* of the hunters I used to pvp with rarely wanted to give up the firepower of marksmanship in order to have that big angry pet.
Play style has a lot to do with it I imagine. Honestly – in most battlegrounds I could do without a pet. MY tools are concussive shot and wing-clip to get range and the ability to keep that range on my targets. Short of maybe a charging boar – the pet isn’t always the the most useful for that. More like a dot really than anything else.
Beast Mastery is dandy for leveling though. While I can do without a pet in PvP – I’d hate to be out one on the PvE scene.
