Ding 25; Spent Time Around Bael’dun

March 16, 2007 By Gitr 8 Comments

I got tired of the respawn rate with the Centaurs in Thousand Needles and went back to the Barrens and picked up a quest from Gann Stonespire, a tauren walking the road near Bael’dun in the far South area. He gives you 3 quests in a chain.

The first is Gann’s Reclamation. It involves killing the miners in the pit that you see running toward RFD. It went pretty quickly, although it did require some timing with pulls because they are patroling and placed pretty densely. I killed Khazgorm before I was done with the kill quotia, and had to stick around for a while.

After turning in that quest, I got Gann’s Revenge. He wanted me to bring him 6 vials of Nitroglycerin, 6 bundles of Wood Pulp, and 6 samples of Sodium Nitrate. These drop from any of the mobs at the top of the hill near the pit, including those inside the building. It was a pretty busy area around there last night, and there were some mass-repopsย at bad times. At one point, we had 5 people fighting off about 10 mobs that had kited out of the building. IMO, they need their leashes adjusted.

After collecting those samples, he wants you to continue his revenge-seeking with part 2, which involves blowing up the flying machine at Bael Modan. The machine is located at the very first tower entering the pit…before you even reach the bottom. You need to kill about 3 mobs before climbing the tower. Blow it up, and you’re done.

I flew to Thunder Bluff this morning and got some new gear, including my first helm. Go check out my profile to see what I bought, because I sure can’t remember. ๐Ÿ™‚ I need to go back into my archives and see what things I did with Deadr at level 25 and try to do the same things. Having a pet, I should be able to tackle the same content or higher. I’m pretty sure I want to go for the Wyvern eggs in Thousand Needles next, but I want to check whether or not to go up Darkcloud Pinnacle for those quests that I picked up.

I didn’t have time to respec yet, and before I do, I need to compare all of the advice.ย  Some PvP stuff might come in handy being on a PvP server, but I certainly don’t want to overlook anything someone said. While Hunter is an auto-pilot class, the builds sure do make a difference. I wouldn’t want to be a priest without Mind Flay ๐Ÿ™‚

I remember those quests, they were really hard for me as a sucky warrior.

I remember that quest as well – the last part was particularly hard as I cleared the entire facility of bad guys at least twice before I remembered that the aircraft I needed to blow up *was outside*

    Grrr…

I did something similar, although not as frustratingly maddening. I cleared my way down the ramp over to the tall pillar that has something on top. I thought that I’d click the pillar and blow it up, making the thing fall and break. No-clickie, so I looked around and did a big “DOH!!!”

Is it just me – or do all want to be at home today?

As much as I want to level today, or maybe get into some Outlands instances, I’d rather be making my Overtime that I’m getting. I’m going for 56 hours this week. ๐Ÿ™‚

I want to be at home every day. Instead I have to show up to this place of employment and read this book every day to try and keep some sense of sanity:

Gratz Gitr, just when I caught ya you start pullin away again, lol. I had Jikksta down in 1k but after grouping up and knocking out the Centaur quest real quick everything else was orange for me so I hit up TB and upgraded a couple of peices then flew on to Ashenvale and knocked out a couple easy quests. I have 1 left up there for the Satyr Horns which I’ll finish off tonight then I’ll rejoin the crowd of Monkeys buttering up the Needles. Although if I hit up Camp T and go through this questline that’ll get me close to 25 me thinks. Great post on the quest too, as many Taurens as I’ve levelled I think I’ve done every quest in the Barrens at least once apart from this chain. It’s one of those areas you run past all the time but never bother hittin it up.

I was only on Burning Legion for a little while last night. Long enough to watch Law & Order and play two or three Arathi Basins while sitting on the couch. The 20-29 bracket battlegroup we’re in has a rough time of it. We won one game in three.

Overtime would be Nice. I got Astranon alittle over 3/4 to 18 this morning but I am heading out to take care of some business. I wish i could stay home and just play all day, thats generally what my fridays are like so this sucks.
