Golden Success with Professions

April 3, 2007 By Gitr 7 Comments

I finally got off my writer’s block and came up with something to get some conversations going. Lemme rev up my morning engine and see what comes out.

Yesterday I logged in after work, but before the evening rush and noticed about 30 stacks of Netherweave Cloth for under 5g each. I snagged them all. Yeah, 150g in cloth. I checked the current price of Netherweave bags and saw 6 up for 16g each, which is about 4-6g too much.

I pounced on the opportunity of the low cloth price and the high bag price and churned out 20 bags andย 2 Primal Mooncloth. I posted the bags for 13g 50s each and the cloth for 45g each. When I logged in at 10:00, I had made 480g profit for the day. That took about 20 minutes of work, plus traveling to the moonwell in Zangarmarsh.

What is your best day/trade/sale from your professions? Ever sell someone something for 100g instead of 1g? Shame on you! ๐Ÿ™‚ Did you ever find someone desperate enough to sell you their firstborn for a piece of armor or a new weapon?

Alright here it goes for try Number 2. The most I ever made in one day was selling ore three stacks of Mithril and one stack of Gold altogether 54G. The most I ever made off of one item was some Libram I found for like 4G and ended up selling for over 40G. that was a very good day.

Thanks for trying again. I just don’t know what the problem is. Maybe it’s time to get a real theme instead of my home-built one.

I love finding stupid auction posters that have no idea what something is worth. What makes those people even better is to tie that purchase with a stupid person who also doesn’t know what it’s worth and pays 2+ times too much.

I’ve sold over 500 netherweave bags on my server… Buy stacks of netherweave at 4g, sell bags around 7g, couple gold profit per bag… I don’t understand the people posting netherweave bags at 9g. I must assume they’re also making money when I’m at work or unable to list my cheap bags.

What scares me is that someone else on my server’s reading your blog and a tailor to boot!

Here’s the rub: I could buy out the entire market of cloth and bags and set the price at whatever I want. If there are 8 bags up for 10g each, I’ll buy them if the cloth is expensive to make up my mats costs.

Bags are going nuts on BL right now, as I’d estimate that I am darn near 800 bags so far. How many people still don’t have 16-slot bags and don’t have a tailor among them? It’s amazing.

BTW, I bought the recipe for Truefaith Vestments on the cheap last night just for the heck of it. Then I saw that the mats will cost over 250g. >|

I just wish I had more time to scan the AH looking for deals.

I have made over 500g just on auctions in a 12 hour period. I was trying for some money for my epic Mistsaber. I was smart though, I didn’t wait till 60 to start.

I mined mithril thorium and dark iron(Real money before BC). I also farmed essences of fire and fished for waters. I also farmed the Crusader enchant recipe. After 1 week of farmng all this I went nuts at the AH. I put so much up I was worried that I would reach some max postin limit. Ore, bars, essences, several decent greens, 4 blues, and my kickin Crusader Enchant recipe(posted for 180) Everything sold within 12 hours. I came away with 500 and a little change. Top it off the next night I made 200g off of more ore, runecloth and fel cloth plus some more greens.

If I get down and do it I can eaisly make 1000g in just a few days. All it takes is playing the market and knowing where to go for the most wanted items. I prolly will knuckle down next week while I’m at home and make some serious money.

Money making tip: Get fishing and the recipe for Deviate delights. Excellent return for time spent. On ANY SERVER!!. Well at least the four that i have been to.

I have been making moo-la selling enchanting mats. It is astounding how fast strange dust sells in the AH. This works especially well if one has a character that can blow through a low level instance in minutes, picking up blues and greens. Between Kaewhy and Schokti, I have made as much 60 gold in a week.
