After receiving comments and several private e-mails, I pared down my link list…a LOT. Some of you will notice that only a few remain, and it looks like I probably deleted a few that I want to put back up (sorry Problogger!). Looking at other blogs, the list is still too long and needs to be cut back some more.
I propose a contest. We all like sales, shows, and contests, right?
I will be deleting links to blogs thatย don’t leave a comment to this post. Some will stay just by virtue that I love your blog, but if you read on, you will see a bonus to commenting and such. There are some rules, of course:
- No gold-farming, pay-to-level, or questionable sites will get a link.
- It must be updated at least weekly. If I go there and the last post was December…well, get on the ball.
- Follow rules 1 &ย 2.
IF you write a review on your blog of my blog, or especially your favorite post on my blog, then I will assign you a higher rank than the others and will see about displaying the list according to rank.
The deadline is Monday morning when I come in to work around 6:30am.
EDIT: I don’t want anyone to think this is being harsh. I loved having my link list, but it was the longest thing on my site. This excellent comment by Josh was what pushed me off my butt to do some house-cleaning:
Your page shouldnโt be 2/3 links, 1/3 content at any viewing โangleโ.
While horizontally, this will still be the case, it won’t have the amount of content to scroll through and detract from my writing.
I’m here I’m not listed but maybe I can be in the general blogs section

Yeah I have a blog now
Dont delete me ๐
Yeah you don’t have me in your links now, but it’d be cool to get a link on your site. I’ve been thinking about starting a weekly “review a site (blog, compendium, whatever) feature on my blog so mayhap this will give me a chance to get started!
Good idea for a feature. I used to have a Blog Spotlight in the sidebar, but that was again taking up sidebar area. I look forward to putting your link up.
Hey, ive been viewing you blog for a while now and i really enjoy coming to it, because each time i view it there is always something new! I first started viewing your blog from school, because its one of the only wow related sites not blocked at my highschool(im in 12th finaly)! Your blog has also inspired me to start my own. I plan on putting my wow experiances on my blog as well as personal stuff as well. If im worthy my blog is http://xialus.wordpress.com/ ๐ keep up the good work!
I’m here and I actually posted today. I got 2 pics of my new boy up on my blog. I also put his mug up on the forums.
I’ve inspired a young mind? /e begins weeping uncontrollably.
I checked out your blog and I’m sending my condolences. The grandparents I’m closest to are both still here and will be devastated when that day comes, so I can only imagine how you feel.
Mind!! Congrats!!
Snow!! Congrats!!
I’ll go check out that mug now.
I like where how you’re handling the clean up, community involvement and participation ftw!!! Like I’ve already said I think you’re doing a great job, and to contrast Josh’s comment slightly, I agree content is king and while admittedly Gitr’s blog may be a little side bar heavy, there’s no lack of content with at least daily updates and new content. So it doesn’t bother me, tidiness can come with time, content is what we’re here for ๐
Throwing some ideas out there for ya to ponder, you could always consolidate and keep the majority of your links on a seperate Links page and leave your creme de la creme on sidebar. What would be nice although completely not sure if it’s feasible or not (plugin maybe?) would be to have the Category headings as drop downs. For example page loads, sidebar only shows “Categories>”, “Archive>”, click on either one and *poop* drop down gives ya the info.
I don’t mind if you take me out of your links, Jesse. My blog is a varied affair these days & no longer qualifies for ‘new WoW blog’. I only say this as I have no links sidebar at all & others may.
