Would Being on a PvE Server be a Push?

April 16, 2007 By Gitr 11 Comments

Now that we are discussing a realm move, it’s time to test the waters again with Buttered Monkeys. Given that we have a few care bears (used with the utmost respect) in our ranks, I’ve been wondering for quite some time how many of you faithful readers would like to join in on the guild fun that we are clearly having together, but can’t stand the PvP atmosphere.

I personally would not choose a PvP realm for a toon had it not been for upper level help from Aeigelus and gang. I rolled Deadr back in August or September and missed out on level 60 material that whole time. By the time I hit 60, most of the guild was between 65 and 70. Now, they are halfway (or more) through Karazan, keyed for all kinds of stuff, and have tens of thousands of PvP kills.

My only attachment to BL is Aeigelus and Deadr. ‘Nuff said. I don’t have enough time invested in anyone else on the realm to throw $25 a them to move them. I don’t particularly care for trying to complete a quest, only to have a ??-ranked pally come up and one shot me. Nor do I enjoy to grind and find that someone has been waiting for my mana and health to drop to dangerous levels to kill me on uneven footing.

Would moving to a PvE realm be enough to motivate you to join us if we move? This will play a major role in the move, as it will help us determine if that will ensure more people to be available for runs when RL issues hold some of us up.

Please go to the forums and register and/or apply for guild membership if you are interested in joining Buttered Monkeys on a PvE realm.

I’ve been reading your blog for quite a while now, so I just wanted to ask.

Any idea which realm you’ll be moving to?

We are discussing that on the forums as we speak. I’ll send you off a gmail chat and fill you in. For the rest, Gitr is my original main, thus the blog, and resides on Kargath. I’m waiting for others to chime in, but a lot of us are at work or sleeping off the graveyard shift now.

ugh the choices..the drama…One thing about bein on a pvp realm and being a pally, (well for me) is that people leave me alone most of the time. A level 37 warrior (ally) came up to me and started attacking me once I turned in a quest in STV. I stood up to him and ownd his ass so badly. I saw him res, I let him rest then I went up and initiated the attack. He used a health potion to try to save him but heck no I would not be denied another HK from this loser. I ownd him again and watched as he ran with his tail between his legs. I guess I dont mind the pvp.

Bremenn is sitting so low with the Monkeys (because his maker is too enraptured with one little Gnome and his exploits) … that a move to any realm would be ok by him … he’s just reroll there … hehe

So that makes the move or .. a move .. easier for me. I do understand the issues of pvp and the baggage that comes with it. Mindkiller, I think, has it down pat. True pvp isn’t a ganking, nor should it be. That being said, payback, is always a ******.

But at least on a PvE realm you can go looking for a good world PvP, knowing full well the fight will come to you on equal terms (if not greater) soon enough … all the same there is a measure of control to the PvP that is greatly felt.

how many players in the buttered monkeys? how many are active during australian gaming hours (around 2:00am – 7:00am US Pacific, 5:00am – 9:00am US Eastern)?

Kate can’t play, but I’m considering lending my leet skills to a (very) casual guild…

Josh, good to see you back.

We are about as casual as they come. Shoot, even the GM doesn’t show up for runs sometimes. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’d be estatic to have you, Kinless, and his wife join us.
