What Makes for a Good Move?

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about the guild lately; probably ten times more than I want to let my wife know about. It’s not really been a stressful time, but I do feel some immediate sense of a need to succeed. We have a very good group of players, all of whom have toons over 60 on their own realms and have gone out of their way to re-roll and run with other bloggers. Now we are either re-rolling or transferring, possibly wasting days of playing to abandon a toon or two.

We had enough people (at times, myself included; just look at my [tag]ganking[/tag] rants on the blog) who are feeling unwelcome on [tag]Burning Legion[/tag] by the other faction. Being the insensitive type that I am, I just passed it off as whining for a while, and then I realized that I have been getting pissed a bit more than normal myself. I had gone through the upper 50s with Deadr without too much trouble because people were either my level or too busy playing in [tag]Outlands[/tag] to bother him.

We discovered that [tag]Kargath[/tag] was over-populated, that some didn’t want to RP, and others still want PvP. The majority said that they would rather re-roll than transfer toons, and 2 said that they would like us all to start fresh if some people have to. I agreed to that sensibility. I am not entirely happy about leaving Bloodr behind as a level 30 hot chick, but I can always move her later if I’m rolling in cash.

It’s the comaraderie that matters the most to me. I don’t want to “waste” a player any more than the next person, but I wouldn’t call my time on BL with my favorite [tag]Buttered Monkeys[/tag] a waste. I’ll never forget that time in Deatholme with Mind and Snow when we tried taking down Dar’Khan way undermanned. Or that time I cleared half of Bael’dun in one pull and emptied the big chamber in another.

This is your sounding-board. Forget the guild forums for this bit of guild stuff. How are you with the move so far? Did the communication suck or do you feel like you weren’t heard based on the decision? Will you be re-rolling with us on Velen? Mindkiller joined me as Ravenkiller (yes, with the “er” this time).
