Ding 22; My Gear Still Sucks

April 24, 2007 By Gitr 12 Comments

Man, starting from scratch has its growing pains. Of course, I’ve been shoveling all of my money to Butterbanker to pay the Guild Tax, which, I can proudly say: We have enough money now! Now for the signatures. RL has been kind of crazy lately, and since I’ve only got 8 of you on my Friends list, I’m guessing you’re all in the same boat. We need 6 new sigs, so if you haven’t signed, I’m coming for you :).

Not really, though, because I’m on the clock, so to speak. Last night, I hit 21 with 15h 17m /played time, which I was totally happy with my time improvement over Frostr’s time. I don’t quite remember where I dinged, but I do remember the fun I had last night doing what I shouldn’t have…

It’s bragging time, so if you don’t like “I’m awesome!-talk,” then skip to the next two paragraphs and ignore this cool screenshot. I skipped the [tag]Vorsha the Lasher[/tag] quest with Frostr because I just couldn’t get it done. It’s got the 2 waves of mobs and then Vorsha comes. Joana’s guide says to hold out on this quest until you are for sure 22 or you will probably die. Yes. Most people might. Most classes might. Frostr did. Not Gitr, and not with a hunter with crappy green quest gear. No sir.

How did I do it? Glad you asked. I lit the brazier and stepped back down the hill to the North. When the first wave came, I sicced Catr on all of them and picked out which one the orc dude was hitting. We took them down one by one. When they were down, I healed Catr and then drank a Melon Juice. I repeated the same method with the second wave, only it was noticeably more difficult. When Vorsha came out, I sent Catr in for a Growl and a Claw and laid into him/her (kind of hard to check on a 3-headed sea-brontosaurus). Check out that health and mana remaining after that 2 minute fight.

This morning, I finished several [tag]Camp Turajo[/tag] quests that were waaay to difficult as a 21. I got Catr killed about 5 times and kept running out of mana healing him with my weak Mend Pet. I got it done and dinged over to 22 in the Excavation site of [tag]Bael Modan[/tag]. The Prospector guy wasn’t where he usually is, so I had to fight farther and got the ding killing mobs instead of turning in the quest.

So 22 levels in 17h 13m of /played time! I turned in my quests, spent over 2g trying to train up everything (nope, not enough gold), and got a couple more flight points and logged out in the inn in Stonetalon Mountains. Time for the nasty part of Stonetalon that Frostr hated so much. Let’s see how Huntr levels through here.

I’ve updated my profiles, and updated Butterbanker’s too, but I can’t remember (nor change from work) if you can see his bags or gold. What did you do last night. I didn’t see you. 🙂

Congratulations on kicking some major butt. I to know the pains of crappy gear; owe for the days when I thought 70G was being broke.

Thanks, and thanks for sending stuff to Butterbanker. You can hold on to that stuff for now, but you are the designated bag-maker. Can you make 10 or 12-slotted ones yet?

Let me know the price or if you want me to send money/mats. I’m stinking tired of having 34 slots because of my quiver.

Thanks, just trying to help out where I can. I just got to a little past 60 for tailoring, the next bag is and 8 slot at 80 then the 10 slot at 150. With a good couple of hours I can bump it up considerable; I just need to find the time. I will make all the bags I can for free for the guild, it’s not a big deal. 🙂

I’m the potions guy. I’m not seeing many herbs I can still pick in my areas, so I hope I don’t have to drop herbalism to continue a good profession in an effort to not screw up my /played time. I purposefully chose to not be a skinner because of the extra skinning time.

Well sucks to be you guys all poor and stuff I have tons of money j/k yes it does suck and I feel your pain on the quiver. it is annoyingly useful though. I can make +2 stamina rings and +1 intellect and spirit so if any one needs them just let me know and I will send them off.

I got a ring as a quest reward from Gann and got a nice green drop this morning from a quillboar near Kaz…or was it Nuz? I should be wearing shoulders soon. Once we get the charter signed and paid for, I need to get me some decent gear.

Do you realize that we’ve only been on this realm since the 16th? Awesome.

Hey gratz on the badassness my man. Yup, I still suck at playing with you guys =-( IRL is hectic for me lately too actually..

This is off the topic of the post and such, but would you mind letting me know what buff mod that is? I’ve been thinking about giving my UI a complete overhaul, and I’ve seen that mod around. Thodin like.

It is. I got CT_mod. I don’t remember if it’s Ace or not, but I use Ace Updater religiously and let all of my other addons go for weeks without updating. If it breaks, I fix it.
