I would have to log into Frostr to see what his level 25 /played time was, but Huntr got to level 25 in under a day. 23h 56m to be exact. I would also say that was still a far from perfect run to 25. I have died at least 15 times, trained unnecessarily, and not completed some group quests. I expect that my pace will get a tad better as I earn more gold on the AH to fund better gear and such. It’s high time to create a personal bank alt, as using Butterbanker would be downright wrong. 🙂
I am a bit off-pace with Joana’s Horde guide because I now have to grind 60% to get to where it says I need to be. I will likely be going to [tag]Thunder Bluff[/tag] tonight to train Guns and Staffs when I turn in a quest and accept a couple more, including the always fun, [tag]Steelsnap[/tag]. Still, being off-pace, I am able to grind at a blinding pace, with [tag]FuExperience[/tag] saying that I will ding in about an hour more at my current rate. That shows how poorly I played a couple of days ago, taking 3 hours to level.
I also updated my RPG profile because I got some really nice green drops last night, including a dagger that has better stats than the sword I was using. The only one I remember the name of was the Precision Bow, which has 5dps better than the bow I was using. Let’s see…5dps or 60 silver? No-brainer. Equip. Shoot!! Kill!!
When I was grinding around the quillboars area in Southern Barrens (like I said I would), Jikksta whispered to me that he hates the new in-game spam. I do to, so I made sure he knows about [tag]SpamSentry[/tag], which is totally a life-saver with this new trend. He does and uses it, but it’s still annoying. I have reported 8 people on Huntr in 24 hours of gameplay. On a 4 month-old server! I’ve always received an automated whisper from a GM that it will be investigated, etc, etc. Not last night! Jikksta got this message back:
I know I’ve been talking an awful lot about the new UI I’m using, but I’m sorry, it is just awesome! It’s not just about getting a cleaner look than the standard UI, it’s a vast gameplay improvement. I noticed that Jikksta is still using the original UI, and I never, ever blast someone for doing that, I personally can’t play with 2, 3, or 4 open bags. I used the original bags for about 6 months, and I had to put in my mind which bags I kept things. Weaps in one, armor in another, quest items in another, etc. You can’t just auto-loot without having to sort things out every 15 minutes when you’re grinding that way. Here is what my bottom bar looks like now, as I have decided this morning that I want to make some more changes to the UnitFrames and buffs before I unveil my “final” setup.
You have prolly noticed that I’ve given up the 2 monitor setup now that I have the new UI. I was experiencing too low of frame rates to enjoy the game as much as I should. I was hankering for a new video card upgrade or memory or something with things being that poor. No one should have to suffer through 4fps gameplay. 🙂 That being the case, now that I’m running a single display, and the new UI having a preset setting config from one of the addons, I noticed 2 days ago that the display was a much higher quality than before, with 14-18fps coming at me.
Then last night, I noticed something I had not for a very, VERY long time: beauty. This game is downright beautiful with the right settings. I was taken aback when I was running through the canyons in Thousand Needles last night. I noticed shadows! It was sunset in the canyon, and the light was filtering through the structure of the lift to Freewind Post, and the sight was quite beautiful.
I have a few things to do to get me to 26 a bit faster tonight, and I plan on dinging and training in TB before logging. I’ll leave you with 2 more scenery gems before I get to work stuff:
What did you do last night? Sound off!
I’ll race you. 🙂 If I do a ‘lock, I’ll do an orc, I think. Although I really like the Belf starting area. I think the guide implies that the Kalimdor starting area levels the fastest. There must be a reason he always plays a troll. For some reason, he thinks the Berserker is more of a life-saver than the 5% pet dmg bonus as an orc. I’m also not speccing anything like what he levels with.
I’ll bet BRK would disagree. 🙂 BM FTW!!
Ok, i did it, I bought the guide!
Yay!! You bought the Alliance guide?
Scott & I ended at 20 last night, scrounging around for someone, anyone who could do the last 50 points of damage on Dhar’kan for the blue dagger. No such luck. We may try again today, but I need to romance my main for a while – she has been neglected for far too long!
I did, I started a new alliance toon (I should really blog about these
in my public blog instead of just my LiveJournal) to play with my best
friend and need to power level her. I already have 2 horde 70’s, so I
can buy that guide later.
Thing is, i know nothing about alliance side (um, where IS ironforge,
etc) and I’ve already found out quickly that orcs walking around don’t
exactly like me especially when I run to the nearest horde town
because it’s all I know. LOL.
Grats on 20, guys. I ended up leaving Ghostlands for good, unless I’m in UC for something that sparks my interest before I level too far for the blue to be useful.
What is the dps on the bow, please? It’s all blocked crap here. If it’s less than 15, it’s not worth my time .:)
Why not post your armory link?
http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Velen&n=Huntr
Then we can see what awesome gear you have as soon as it happens. And grats on 25!
That’s fine. I just haven’t gotten into the Armory stuff yet because of the firewall here. I can’t even see the sigs that it generates. 🙁
My gear isn’t nearly as nice as Bloodr’s because she is bank-rolled.
If you guys don’t mind the gear, I’m cool with you seeing what gear you are likely to get when you use the guide. I’ll just disclaim that I am in no way thinking that this is uber gear, but it’s getting the job done for leveling. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by.
TEh u waht. That thar Huntr is looking snazzy in his britches. Nice knees. You would make Steve Irwin proud in nem.
