I’ve never been as in-game mad as I was Sunday morning. I logged in to Hunter with my long-leveled best-friend cat by my side in Stonard. I ran to Blasted Lands to do some quests that I started when I ran across Grunter at 4:00am, server time.
Choice:
- ditch pet
- stable pet
I opted to stable Tiggr and run back. As I got back, I saw a level 49 NE Druid standing off to the side, so I quickly dropped my trap and backed up to start taming. Grunter would not go down, because the trap broke and started goring me. I had to Feign Death to regroup myself.
Just at that moment, I saw a big column of light as the stupid druid initiated combat on Grunter and proceeded to kill him. There was nothing I could do. I couldn’t tame, I couldn’t rip aggo without killing him faster, and I couldn’t kill the jerk. If this was on Burning Legion, I would have grieved this guy for an hour. I was sooooo mad it wasn’t even healthy.
I’d been looking for Grunter for at least a month. He was never around, and still isn’t. My only chance would be when the servers come back online after maintenance, but geee, I have a job!
Jerk!
When was the last time you wanted to rip the digital pixel head off someone in-game?
dude i wanna rip someones head off every day in this game lol
/Agree.
I just started a new hunter on Mine and Mindkillers original server. I love her to death and I am having a fun time learning the skills needed to play her. I want to tame the white lion that is only available to Horde and that is frustrating. I am sorry to hear that and EVIL NE druid would be such an #$@$@#$ #$ $@ $# @#@! % &%
Snow!! You’re alive! You haven’t logged into Velen in forever. I thought you quit.
How are things with your new hunter? I want details. Hit me.
Yeah I am alive and kinda well… I got fired on Frieday the 13 of July and have had a LOT of free time so…w/e … I want to come back once and a while and play on Velen. I guess the issue is that I have NO clue where to go for quests and I think the Mindkiller still is interested in running with me. I will though look stuff up and I am planning on at the very least leveling my lil priest.
I hope that you are doing good and that you are not working too hard and that you are home often enough that your wife still knows what you look like, =).
I will do my best to log on once and a while to work on leveling and say hey…=)
Snow
Oooh I would’ve been PISSED!! At the same level, I scouted around a bit for Grunter and never found him.
There was one occassion where I, admitedly, reacted rather childishly to provocation…
I was in the Wetlands helping a friend of mine with some quests, as they had just started playing the game (at my insistance), and I figured I’d give them a hand. This was before TBC. I was 60, they were in their early 20s. Anyway, we were in that excavation pit near Menethil, and they were killing raptors for a quest.
We decided maybe it would be fun to have them tame a raptor (as they were also playing a hunter) just to give ’em a test drive. So, we mosied up to tame the named raptor in the pit. Just as my friend started to tame, this little dwarf (I still remember his name, too) bumbled in and stole the raptor and proceeded to kill it, then went on his merry way. My friend, of course, was shocked and disappointed. I was irate.
So, I said to my friend, “Follow me. But stay a ways back. Just be close enough to watch.” At which point I mounted, thundered down the hill, and weaved through the excavation site gathering as many raptors as I could in a trail behind me, then made a beeline for the dwarf. Predictably, when he saw so many mobs headed right for him, he went into panic mode and did a Psychic Scream, effectively transferring all the aggro I’d established on myself directly on to him. Just as I had hoped he would. It was at this point that he realized his error, and he made a mad dash for the exit of the excavation site. I, of course, ran around on my mount weaving back and forth gathering more raptors. I caught up to him quickly enough with the new batch of raptors, in addition to the ones that were already chasing him, and again he didn’t disappoint me–another Psychic Scream. With two packs of angry raptors on his tail, he didn’t last long, and I had long since shed aggro, so I stood by his corpse to savor my victory. My friend came running up, laughing hysterically, saying “That was AWESOME!” At which point I dismounted, targeted the dwarf, who appeared not to have released yet, and /spit /laugh ed at.
Childish, I know, but EXTREMELY satisfying.
Great tale! All I could muster on this punk was a /rude and /spit, but my wife saw the /rude over my shoulder as she waked in to say ‘morning.
“I don’t think you should be giving people rude gestures. Would you have done that in real life?” she asked.
“Maybe, I’m not positive, but I’m pretty sure it might have slipped in that instance.” He’d better not run across me with his flag up. Muahhahhaahhaa.
Lol! That’s awesome! I’m generally pretty restrained in-game, to the point of being anti-social, but that pesky dwarf just pushed the wrong buttons, I guess, lol. I think what really set me off about it was the fact that he ruined one of those fun “new” experiences in the game for my friend. Payback was sweet, though. ๐
