2.3 – The Patch We’ve All Been Anticipating

November 12, 2007 By Gitr 14 Comments

It’s coming tomorrow morning, and I personally can’t wait until 10pm to get to play. Right… gaming life sucks when you go straight from work to a 3 hour night class, but what am I going to do? Last week, I caught the Background Downloader grabbing the patch for me and I’ve since been mulling about what I’m most looking forward to.

Being an alt-aholic like Growl and Kinless, not to mention 60-less PhiLogical, I’m very much mainly interested in the improved leveling for sub-60s. Then there is the newly added guild bank, which has my mules and the guild banker happy about. Oh, and the nixing the gossip pane on the flight masters and bankers. Doh! What am I most looking forward to? I’ve got a brand new druid (level 5 after 1 hour) because I couldn’t resist the alt-itch again and a 44 paladin going for 60 by Christmas. Depending on how much the patch improves leveling, I may succumb to starting an all new frost mage again.

According to the PTR patch notes that Blizzard has up right now, there is a lot to look forward to. Oh yeah! I almost forgot the hunter dead zone is going away, too. Tuesday night is going to be a fun night! The list is seriously too long to put up here without looking like news regurgitating, so go check out the list and chime in on what you want most.

Haha! Well, grats on the dilemma. It’s better than sitting around wondering what you can do to pass the time, I suppose. Let me know how it is. The graphics look awesome, but the system requirements are far too great for my current system. Stay tuned for updates in that department around Christmastime.

I’m really looking forward to 2.3!! Although us EU users have to wait an extra day!! (Grr!! No fair!!)

    I’ve got a 41 Lock, a 27 Rogue, a 20 Priest and a 13 Shaman that all eagerly want leveling!!

I will level them to 70!! Not in that order i imagine…my rogue is a gnome and his voice really grinds my gears!!!

–high-pitched voice– What do you mean? You don’t like my voice!? I’ll backstab you if you kneel down.–end silly gnome voice–

Out of those, I’d say the ‘lock and priest will be the easiest to level. Deadr was on auto-pilot after level 20 and just got easier after he got Shadowform. It’s amazing how much you can do when you’ve got a bubble and Mind Flay. The key is a great wand. You can’t spend too much on the best wand on the AH if it presents itself. I’ve got a long history of spending a lot of money on wands, but it’s what lets you build your mana back up to re-bubble.

Having leveled a paladin Holy (1-60 what a noob) its got to be easier than that! Mind you my druid was quick to level, especially once i respec’d her balance at 50ish. Boomkin FTW!! I recently changed her back to Feral, for grinding as her raiding days are pretty much over i think – apart from maybe offtanking in Kara…but i doubt she’ll see Gruul….but who knows!!

I’ll do the lock first though as he’ll grind enough cash questing to pay for my druid’s epic flight form.

And the most annoying thing Poobah tells me is…”Not enough Energy!!?”
and when you’re plugging away at your mouse trying to get the combo to land when you’re about to die and you get is some annoying little GNOME telling you he’s out of energy!! Goddamit man!! JUST KILL IT!!!?!?!

Growl, I’m with you there. Paladr is still a prime candidate for that new content. I still haven’t finished the Onyxia eggs quest leading up to the big ogre in Brackenwall.

Firelight, sounds like you have quite a plan there. I’m torn between Holy and Feral with my plans for my druid. Leveling Feral is going to be much easier, but I also love running instances along the way. I miss Stockades the most… must have Horde Stockades.

I’m on the PTR – Mudsproket is a big let down!

Its 2 huts and a flight path that anyone that level would have real problems getting to with all the highly aggressive mobs that wonder close to the road. not to mention that it will take 5-10 minutes to run there from Menethil.
(alliance side that is – if you’re horde then i dont know if you guys have a base there or not already?)

Its really not all that much to look at!!

It’s great for Horde. We have Brackenwall Village up by the spider cave in the NW corner.

Speaking about that new village…it was put there to fill the level 30-40 questing hole…

    What questing hole…?

You hit level 30, you go to STV surely!

Or is that Alliance questing only?
