House cleaning

May 10, 2006 By Gitr 2 Comments

Gitr’s going to drop his pitifully low mining profession and take up enchanting… for a few minutes. I have about 15 weapons and armor pieces that I need to shard and clear up some bank and bag space.

Then it’s on to alchemy. It’s going to be fun to see how fast and cheap I can get him to 300. I’ll be happy with doing arcanite bar transmutes for my Lionheart Helm and Titanic Legplates. They require 12 bars each and Grimr’s only made him 6 so far. I would be at 10 or 12 if I had realized that I could have some epic pieces crafted, but that they took what I was selling for such a nice profit.

Tonight is probably King Kong rental night and get to 275 alchemy night, all rolled into one.

A new Priestr has emerged

May 4, 2006 By Gitr 1 Comment

This blog is being usurped by my Priestr on Kargath. He is to take the world by storm with his fast-click-healing l33t skillz as he levels through Westfall this week. He is moments away from dinging 14, and will be joining groups in DM shortly. I’ll put up pics and profile information in the next day or so. This blog is going to be alive and kicking again.

*cough* Play Wow?

May 1, 2006 By Gitr Leave a Comment

I had a sick day on Friday and I pretty much sat around WoWing and watching Godfather for the first time. I’m looking forward to starting Godfather 2 this week. It was set-up so well for a sequel.

A whole weekend, and Gitr finally got some nice stuff. He finally hit triple digits money AFTER buying stuff for the AH. Included in the loot are a Bone Slicing Hatchet and a shield with +Sta and +Nature Resist. I’ll have to reinstall my character profiler to upload the actual name, because right now, I can’t remember my own name.

Rani, from my alts’ guild, invited me on a 4-5 man LBRS so one of us could get a key. I ended up with Beaststalker’s Gauntlets for Grimr when he hits level 54, I believe. It would be nice to sell, but also equally nice already having all that work done for him when he’s ready to hit LBRS and UBRS so he doesn’t need to get them himself.

I might get some AH time in tonight, but I doubt much more than that. I’ll take Rani up on any offer to run LBRS, though.

LBRS and farming

April 27, 2006 By Gitr Leave a Comment

Last night, I got into a LBRS PuG after unsuccessful attempts at filling out a group for Baron, Scarlet Strat, and UBRS. We made it all the way through, and I got the letter from the end boss to take to Marshall Maxwell. Next up: take down Draakisath repeatedly.

In the LBRS run, I saw the 700g Fire Protection potion recipe drop, but the raid leader limited it to Alchemists. ๐Ÿ™

This morning, while waiting for my roommate to take us to work, I got on and went to turn in Tirion Fordring’s Lost Honor quest. I’d killed several (something like 10) grubs on the way to him, with nothing to show for it. On the way to the next leg of the quest, I killed one and got a Larval Acid. About 20 yards down, there was another grub, so I tried my luck again, and another dropped. 22g morning! Not a bad way to start out the day before work.

I got to Cael Darrow and spoke to the artist, but didn’t have time to go back to Tirion, so I hearthed to post about 200g in auctions for the day. We’ll see how it works out this round. Some of the things are high-priced novelties, and don’t always sell, but when they do, they fetch a good price.

It’s a boy

April 26, 2006 By Gitr 2 Comments

I think a guild started by a guy would always be referred to in the masculine form, but I could be wrong. Anyway, Casual Raiders will be a “he.” Going around and finging 10 un-guilded 60s in IF around 11pm was not very difficult. Some of them are even going to stay and see how things pan out.

My forums are up already, but until the layout is finalized, I’m just making the URL available to the guild. I like my host a lot. It offered a self-installing PHPBB forum for free and I was up and running in literally 2 minutes. I got a Warcraft theme and started making some graphic customizations.

That was certainly the high point of my evening. Well, along with getting my custom tabard made.

The low point was the end of my second unsuccessful PuG. The first one was for UBRS and my second one was for a Baron run. Neither PuG saw the first boss of either instance. They totally sucked. I can count 6 good players out of 14 unique participants.

Some of you may remember the Raid Leader of my first PuG, Hooahdooah from my original blog, so it must have been in October. We met in Feralas in our 40s. I’ve had him on my list for all this time, with him logging on and off dozens of times per night. I just figured he had a bunch of alts or messes with add-ons. I think I’m waaay wrong there.

There is something downright fishy about him.

  1. no one should masterloot an entire UBRS run
  2. a good warrior does not trip Retaliation on the second pull of UBRS
  3. a good warrior does not fall off the balcony into the dragon rookery
  4. when a masterlooter d/c’s twice with a 53g rare drop, they give it back to the winner instead of waiting for a confrontation

Now he has applied for membership in FoA in an idiotic post on their forums with smiley faces and almost no information about himself. He is either a farmer, ninja, or the dumbest kid I’ve encountered in-game yet.

My second run, with the same priest, who was pretty good, ended before the spider boss, after 3 wipes. It was just a terrible night for PuGs. Unless a good one pops up with people I know, I’m just farming tonight.

Actively looking

April 25, 2006 By Gitr Leave a Comment

I’m about to leave an “exit interview” post about my departure on our forums this afternoon. It basically boils down to 3 things: the list isn’t being used and is giving false impressions of having a spot, the attitude of the guild is no longer to have fun, but to take down bosses at any cost, and that the raid leader is ego-tripping with his dictator-like control over raiding for a three-guild alliance.

I contacted 2 guilds today about getting in with the interest to be able to pull together a 10-man or 20-man on a raid night for another instance. I am looking for the ability to totally not care what night(s) I get to play because of the constant opportunity being there.

If that doesn’t work, I’m going to start a new guild and recruit only those who are 60, regardless of gear and want to do UBRS, LBRS, DM, Strat, Scholo, ZG, and AQ 20 to their hearts’ content until we have 40 people who can just randomly be online and just decide to go to MC. No schedules. Shoot, I’ve got 10g I’ll put toward that.

Who on Kargath is with me?
