Ding in RL; Happy Birthday, Wife

May 9, 2007 By Gitr 5 Comments

Today my wife dinged again, so we’re off to the beach for the day. I’m going to be away from the computer all day, so sorry for no replies. Feel free to reply back and forth between yourself or leave me something for tonight.

Paladr Gets a Blood-Tempered Ranseur

May 9, 2007 By Gitr 3 Comments

Thanks to the help of first Ravenkiller, and then Nynave joining us, Paladr got all of the mats for the [tag]Blood-Tempered Ranseur[/tag]. I must say it is heavy and swings like a monster. It may have lower dps than my sword, but the stats make it a true paladin weapon of finery.

Raven and I started out by doing Ragefire Chasm by ourselves and taking down what appears to be Omen’s little brother, Zelemar the Wrathful. No one really gave up much of a fight in RFC, but I will admit we almost died a few times because of the number of adds we got from spawning patrols. We took down 6 level 15-16 elites in one prolonged fight. [Read more…] about Paladr Gets a Blood-Tempered Ranseur

Interview and USF Orientation/Registration

May 8, 2007 By Gitr 2 Comments

Today is a big day for the family. My wife has a group interview with one of the big banks this morning and I have orientation at USF. It’s going to be a very long day with both of us being so busy and me getting home late.

Her interview is at one of the branches, apparently with other applicants in the area for various positions, so it’s not like she is directly competing in the interview. She’s pretty nervous, being her first corporate interview, but heck, she took a college course on this stuff. She’ll do awesome.

I have to be at USF a tad before lunch to get a parking spot and head over to the Subway at the English building before heading over to the Sun Dome for sign-in for Orientation at 1:30. Around 4:00 we are allowed to make a mad rush for the college advisors to get registered.

Two problems:

  1. My section is already full, and therefore closed.
  2. We won’t have enough money by the due date for me to attend Summer B

I’m sure I can get into my section with advisor approval, but I have no idea how we’re going to pull off problem #2. Time to trust, I suppose. If the money’s not there, I’ll just hold off until Fall, I guess. It got me pretty bummed now, but there isn’t anything I can do about it, so it is just time to take a chill pill.

I have tomorrow off for vacation to be with the wife on her birthday. We’re going to the beach and the weather looks like it’s going to be great. I have a gift card left over for some butt-busting work at the office so I can take her out to dinner.

Ding 22; Belf Paladin Training Sucks

May 8, 2007 By Gitr 18 Comments

I dinged 22 last night while killing the naga around Zoram Strand, just having a good old time with my Sin’dorei Warblade, which I leveled all the way up to level 21’s max. I ventured into Blackfathom Deeps area, for the first time ever. I don’t know why I’ve never run BFD, but I haven’t, so there. I need to get a Corrupted Kor Gem from one of the naga, but when I got into the entrance tunnel, I saw a level 20 Elite and turned tail back to finish my quest some other time.

I’m really not liking the prospect of traveling to Silvermoon every time I want to train my new class skills. I’m in Camp Turajo, for crying out loud. It’s not exactly close to anything that gets me to the translocator. I’m sure as heck not leaving my hearthstone somewhere that I use every 2-4 levels, but the trips are going to be agony.

American Idol Predictions: Final 4

May 7, 2007 By Gitr 2 Comments

I’m putting in my prediction for this week early since I looked to see that the mentor this week is [tag]Barry Gibbs[/tag]. I checked out his stuff and the Bee Gee’s stuff on my Yahoo! Music and it was pretty easy for me to come up with my answer.

Obviously, [tag]Melinda Doolittle[/tag] is going to have a great night, taking one of the songs and making everyone drool over her talent, and then it gets right down to [tag]Blake Lewis[/tag] re-mixingย a song that rocks the world in a massive way. He’ll do it, just watch.

[tag]Jordin Sparks[/tag] and LaKisha…this is going to come down to style and performance. I think this is the week that LaKisha falls out of favor with people. Barring Jordin not getting the feel for the song or having more obvious performance issues like she had 3 weeks ago, I think that Jordin is going to make it to the Top 3 to get un-voted back for a Blake/Melinda showdown for the Finale.

Voted off Wednesday, pre-show prediction: [Read more…] about American Idol Predictions: Final 4
