No Farting Allowed

May 4, 2007 By Gitr 6 Comments

County jail inmate [tag]Brian Bruggeman[/tag], 38, was arrested in North Platte, Neb., in December and charged with felony assault after allegedly passing gas repeatedly in front of his cellmate (leading to a fight). The “victim,” inmate [tag]Jesse Dorris[/tag], said he had made numerous attempts to stay away from Bruggeman but that Bruggeman purposely sought him out in a dinner line and let him have it once more.

No WoW to Report

May 3, 2007 By Gitr 11 Comments

Last night I had to take a Xanex to curb my anxiety about my wife’s car dying (it ended up okay, but the emotional damage was already done to my workday and such) and it really did its job. I was falling asleep watching House M.D. before American Idol came on. About 20 minute into it, she asked if I wanted to take a nap before Idol.

I went to the office and laid out next to my desk to stretch my back on a hard surface and the next thing I know, she woke me up at 10:15 to go to bed. I don’t know if she fell asleep, too, or if she watched the show. I watched it this morning because I knew there was no way to get to work with the radio on or get my breakfast in the cafeteria without hearing the results.

So, no play-time last night, only 20 minutes this morning, and then I was back at my desk at work. It’s going to be a long and stressful day, week, and weekend getting this proposal done, so I hope I have enough time to get Huntr to 32 and Paladr to at least 16.

I got another business card order last night, so I’ll get to that on my lunch break and see what I can do with that.

Edit: My wife’s car repair is under warranty…by 6 weeks…and they said it should be less than an hour to fix it whenever she gets it there. That takes a load off.

American Idol: Final 6 Results

I told you so. I told you so. I told you so. I told you so. I told you so. I told you so. I told you so. I told you so. I told you so. I told you so. I told you so. I told you so. I told you so. I told you so. I told you so. I told you so.

I hated to see Phil go, but man, did he “go out in a blaze of glory.” I told my wife when we watched on Tuesday that it’s a good thing he chose that song since this was his week to go. It’s a perfect pitch for “give me a job” to any record label out there.

Throw me some moolah and I’ll hire him on. The man can sing, just give him the right genre and range. The golden bald man has some pipes!

I’ll keep this one short: YAY for Chris getting voted off. ’bout time!

Sucky Day All-Around

May 3, 2007 By Gitr 5 Comments

It’s not going to be a good day. Yesterday was not a good day, so what makes me think that today won’t be, either? Because I’m already at work, and I know (not think) that it’s not going to get any better than it is as I go off on this rant.

We got the proposal documents 2 days late. I told them to keep track changed turned on. Well, I didn’t know that they would totally suck at that and delete entire sections and copy in replacements, while only changing a couple of lines here and there. Now there is no way to put change bars on just what actually changed without reading the entire friggin’ 350 page document word for word, thereby defeating the purpose of tracked changes entirely.

My best bet is to print this crap along with the last submission and compare them OR do a document compare with the last version with this one’s changes all accepted. That should reveal what actually changed between the two versions, not what “changed.”

Instead of going off on a “why can’t people do their simple jobs without sucking and making my job 10x harder, while they take home the bigger paycheck, better vacation package, and the house on the corner lot?” rants, I’m going to write my “I told you so” post about last night’s American Idol.

Ding 31; Huntr has a hat in STV

May 2, 2007 By Gitr 5 Comments

I got Huntr a hat and some new shoulders yesterday for his arrival to Hammerfall. I finished up what I had to do there and got the FP and got right off to Grom’gol via the Org zep. I’m done with the Tiger 1&2 and Panther 1&2 quests already. I’m starting the Raptor Mastery, but those are higher level mobs.

I’d love to write more, but I have a job to keep. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ding 14; Paladr Is Still Ahead of Joana

May 2, 2007 By Gitr Leave a Comment

I hit 14 this morning and even completed my level 12 questline to get Redemption. I’ll be hankering for another hearth to ride up to SM soon if I run into difficulty with mobs in the near future. Level 14 skills are Blessing of Wisdom, which should avoid drinking time and my current Holy Light healing spell is a bit weak when I’m getting whacked by 2 mobs (the preferred method of powerleveling).

I was pretty sure I bought Paladr some new boots last night, but they never arrived for him. I was kind of disappointed, because it was going to match his pants better. No point in having a “holier than thou” toon if you don’t look the part, right?
