My co-worker just sent me a link to a story, so I had to put it up on my The Weird News Daily blog:
Update on my Database Presentation
Another day has nearly come and gone, with no word of presenting the database to the big-wigs. On the bright side, though, my boss gave our director access to it last night and showed it to him herself. She said he was floored. A member of another department with about 30 years of Company experience saw it over the shoulder of our Data Manager and asked where it came from. When her answer was that I made it, he was vocally complimentary.
Things are really looking good here in respect to my tool development. With the re-org last week and a new trade group that hasn’t really been fleshed out by the directors in engineering and customer support, it looks promising that I may be able to slide into a training/tool dev/database administrator role in the coming weeks or couple of months. Blizzard Supports Sweatshops
I stumbled across a deep, dark secret of Azeroth yesterday, and it finally dawned on me as to what I was seeing. If you make your way to the Bazaar in Silvermoon, there is an excellent tailor who set up her shop there under the name Keelen Sheets.
What the public doesn’t know is that there are underpaid, or even enslaved gnomes working downstairs. It all started innocently enough, but it turned ugly after a while. I was using the mana loom to make some Imbued Netherweave Bolts, and I noticed that there were curtains to a back room. Being one of the regulars in her fine shop, I felt quite comfortable to venture back there to see what she keeps behind the curtains.
Going Dual-screen
I hooked up my second monitor yesterday after my wife went to bed to test out playing with 2 monitors and putting the non-essential info on the side monitor. I like it! I like it a LOT! Next up is a serious upgrade, because my framerate took a big hit (about half) in the name of a clear playing area.
Warning, this full-size image is 250k if you’re on dial-up.
Deadr Finally got Guild Help with Elite Quests
Last night I helped out a couple of fellow guildies with their elite quests in Lower City in Shattrath, so when all was said and done, I asked for some help in return. I got some major quests out of the way and boosted myself to 32% of the way through level 63.
I was searching for Ironjaw when I got called away, so we headed back there because I had also spotted the corpse of Stonegazer. I needed Stonegazer’s Blood for a group quest. He hadn’t spawned yet, so we we sought out Ironjaw and I got his pelt, then we took out Stonegazer. Natur was kind enough to ask if there were any other quests that I needed assistance with.

Ding 63; Making a Fortune with Bags
It was quite a weekend. I’ll put it into several posts today to break things up. Saturday my wife got a cross-stitching pattern we bought on eBay, so she needled away as I played some wonderful WoW blissfully for 2-3 hours. I’m not sure if I dinged on Saturday or Sunday now, because the 2 days’ gaming was so similar, as I got to play again in the afternoon on Sunday.
As I mentioned before, I can craft Netherweave Bags for about 5g each, depending on that moment’s price on cloth, and then they all sell for about 9g 50s, leaving me with a hefty profit. I must have crafted 150 bags this weekend, with 4 of them being Imbued Netherweave Bags selling for 40g each.
