What Firefox has done for my subscription rate

December 12, 2006 By Gitr 2 Comments

I have been checking my Feedburner subscription numbers every day now. As I already mentioned earlier in Firefox 2 Has Live Feeds, I saw a jump in subscribers. I don’t want to put up the fancy chicklet that shows the number at any given time until it gets higher, but I am pretty impressed with the difference November made in the blog’s readership:

Beat a Rogue, SUURRRRE!!!

December 11, 2006 By Gitr 5 Comments

So, here is what I’m told:

Remark from Christine | [December 4, 2006, 12:59 pm]
The way to beat a rogue is to fear and dot them. And bubble and heal and you will widdle them down. As a rogue, I hate that farking bubble. I also cannot take a priest level for level who is spec’d to shadow.

That is all fine and good, but rogues don’t play fair! I found a 38 gnome rogue in Badlands going after a buzzard I wanted. So I waited until the buzzard and rogue were both at 50% and killed the rogue. Then I started to work on the buzzard, knowing that I had about 2 minutes to clear out of the area. Next thing I know, I’m under attack again. Badly. I Feared, he shook it off, then stunned me and ripped me apart. There was no way he was like-level.

So I come back, and see him sitting, eating. I snuck behind a boulder to rez, got my mana up and bubbled as he was going for another kill on another buzzard. Next thing I know, I’m getting ambushed again. No WAY!! He’s on the other side of the friggin’ boulder. I fear him and run and see what has been going on: there were two of them. TWO gnome rogues. BAH!

Ding again, at 42

December 11, 2006 By Gitr 1 Comment

I hit 42 on Saturday and got my mining up to 183 this morning. I had to look it up to see that I have to hit 200 mining to train up to Artisan. I also was able to mine my first 2 mithril deposits!! Woot! My highest previous attempt at mining took me all the way to tin. I never really got into it, but ores are much more lucritive on Burning Legion.

That is one of the most notable things I have found on this server, at least horde side. At any given time, there are almost no weapons, ores, or cloth. Just try to find wool while you are leveling a tailor. They go for about 2g a stack when there are only 5 to be found. My skinning is up around 275, so I’ll be hitting 300 soon. I just can’t blog WoW today, since I haven’t done anything important or cool, so here is one of the funniest things I have ever seen:

Crafting for now

December 7, 2006 By Gitr 9 Comments

I have mainly been crafting with my alts the last two days. Maimr is 150/150 Tailoring and 140/150 Blacksmithing. Drundeh is 150/150 Leathermaking. They both need to level to go any higher, so I will take Maimr out to play tomorrow morning.

I was able to get onto CurseGaming site to download several mods. I REALLY like vBagnon. It is way better than the old Bagnon I had before the patch. I’m not sure if it is by the same people, or if it has added features that 2.0 allows, but it rocks.

I also re-installed Bongos for my bar manager. I had been doing without since I started playing Deadr, but I wanted more screen space now that I’m comfortable with what his spells look like on the bar. I really need to get Ace2, but the server was totally bogged down, as you all might have noticed.

Aeigelus told me that he has a working copy of Auctioneer [Read more…] about Crafting for now

Domain Host Migration Complete

December 6, 2006 By Gitr Leave a Comment

YAY!! Break out the champaigne and other fine drinks. I just tested the site by changing a file name on the new FTP site and an image disappeared as it should. The database is working, and the service seems to be a bit faster.

Thank you all for being patient yesterday.

GoDaddy.com Hosting & ServersI have switched to GoDaddy.com hosting, and now that I know what the heck I’m doing with migration, anyone who follows suit can feel free to drop me a line if you have any issues. My issue yesterday was entirely with a password generated automatically by my original WordPress installation. Once I reset that password to what I wanted, the site came back up.
