I hit 41 this morning after running the entire Scarlet Monastery with Core last night. I picked up some nice blues…for a level 34 player. I checked the stats of everything I picked up against what I had on, and my stuff was all better. Of course, Doan dropped the dagger instead of the staff. 🙁

I was so close to 41 after turning in the quest to Varimathras that I had to grind Deadr this morning to ding. I went to Badlands to give a shot at finishing the quest for the rock elementals. I was on the third, and as I remembered it with Gitr, hardest of the quest line. The 44s really pack a whollup, but I only had to fight 3 of them to get to the softer 42s and 43s to get all 5 bracers I needed.

I turned in the quest reward to Lotwil after I leveled and got a little bonus progress into level 41 underway.

What it is? That is how my good friend and ex-coworker Marvin would have said it. He had a very colorful way of saying boring, everyday things. Let me tell you what makes a good gank according to what I did this morning.

I was doing a quick loop in Badlands on my mount to get some more ore to hit 165 mining skill. After I made the mistake of venturing in to a terribly dangerous gorge in the Northeast with whelps and dragons, I came across a foot-bound hunter who seemed to be doing just fine by herself and her cat.

Word is spreading across Azeroth that the much-beloved king of the dwarves has fallen ill, apparently from poisoning. Ironforge is on Code Red until further notice, and security forces in Stormwind and Darnassus are also on their toes.

Of course the usual suspects are being watched very closely. The Defias Brotherhood has gone into hiding and there are reports of supplies being run into the Deadmines. The most likely suspect is Varimathras, currenlty calling Undercity his home base. Elven spies are reporting that streams of Undead alchemists are infiltrating the dwarven borders with tainted Arcanite Bars.

I got another mass-e-mailed offer yesterday, but this one was not as flattering as my last one. A modern slave driver is asking for advertising on my site, and I’m not about to let him get it. I have done the math, and to support MMORPG currency selling is nothing short of supporting slavery. We have all heard of the Chinese sweat shops in the 90s that targeted GAP and Nike, among other major clothing manufacturers, but how many people in the general public or in the masses of MMORPG players have considered the social ramifications of easy money online?
