Three More Quest Rewards in Hellfire

Gitr went to Blasted Lands after Oz gently reminded me that the Servants are great weapon levelers. I went and did just that, afte flying to Stormwind to sell off some Major Mana potions and to buy another dagger and some bandages.

Bandages are on the cheap now because everyone is making them to level their First Aid to use the Netherweave Cloth to make bandages. I logged last night with 7 cloth and got some more this morning. I’ll store them in the bank until I level up my First Aid. I just wish Deadr could send Gitr all of the Runecloth he’s getting from mobs.

I got a cheap level 37 dagger to equip in both hands for maximum skill learning, 20 Heavy Runecloth Bandages, and headed back to whack the Servant. [Read more…] about Three More Quest Rewards in Hellfire

Gitr’s New Duds, Many Bombing Runs

I LOVE bombing runs! They are so fun. One of them is repeatable. I finished 3-4 quests and got 2 new usable plate armor: chest and helm, making 3 pieces for the expansion so far.

TBC Greens Are Better Than Your Blues

If there is one reason to buy the expansion, then let me just say the loot is awesome! Forget that you can level up. Forget new dungeons. Spend a few hours doing quests and then go back and play your old dungeons with new vigor. Not that you will want to go back there or forget about leveling or playing new instances, but you do have that option. 🙂

I haven’t quite finished processing the graphics yet, but I finished 2 quests this morning before work. In both cases, the reward was better than Strat/Scholo/UBRS/LBRS blues. How many of us ran UBRS 70 times trying to get the Dal’Rend set, or the chestpiece from Drakk?

Recap of TBC and Gitr’s First Impressions

I had a blast last night, unlike I have had in-game in many many moons. When I got home, I made sure I had enough HD space on the game drive and made a backup copy of all my 2.0.1 patches on up, just in case the upgrade overwrote them. It doesn’t, by the way. I installed the latest drivers for my nVidia card after reading in the manual at work (I really didn’t want to be there after I picked up the game) that if the game ever locks up or restarts that you should update your drivers. It worked like a charm. No lockups for the first time in a month!

I got the 2.0.3 to 2.0.5 patch, which was only a 2MB download and got in-game. I quickly created Bloodr on Burning Legion and jumped ship to go play Gitr on Kargath. I ran through the portal and was presented with a huge staircase leading down to a gigantic ?? level monstrosity at the bottom of the stairs. Instead of trying to kick his butt, I went to the left to turn in my quest that I picked up outside the portal, accepted a new quest from the Flightmaster, and hopped on a grif to Honor Hold.

No less than 10 quests completed last night

Last night, Rhone agreed to help me with some quests because he loves cash. There were some quests in Winterspring that he hadn’t done yet, and they give cash once you hit 60. Herein lies the list of quests from last night, totalling 54% of level 53’s XP:

Falling to Corruption: I had already looked in the cauldron in Felwood, but I took Rhone back there to get the quest after I had turned in the…
Flask of Mystery Goo to Donova Snowden.
Toxic Horror Droplet off the Toxic Horrors in Irontree.
Winterfall Runners died.
Ursius died and we delivered the Winterfall Crate.
Brumeran died.
Shy-Rotan died twice, and we both died twice. Lions are NOT supposed to be able to fear you! That is just wrong.
High Chief Winterfall died.
The Final Piece was delivered.
Words of the High Chief was delivered.

That was a heck of a lot of XP

Vacationing in Winterspring this year

I remember this stage of my development with Gitr vividly. Ice Thistle Yetis, running around the lake, avoiding the spirits, hunting bears and cats, and then doing suicide run after suicide run in the cave with the dragonspawn to get teleported to the top of the mountain. It was February 9th, 2006, almost 1 year ago.

Now, The Burning Crusade is coming out, and Deadr is nearly halfway to 54, and getting his Devout Gloves to get a +200 Armor bonus. I would already have the Devout Belt, but no one has posted it in the AH yet.

I got ganked while hunting the Shamans and Ursas. I had just finished killing a level 57 Ursa, had about 240 mana, and got a bright flash of light coming out of my head toward the heavens, and I dropped dead. I saw a Moonkinned level 60 stand there for a few seconds and run off. Thanks, buddy.

I finished the 10 Thick Yeti Hides, and killed about 10 Ice Thistle Matriarchs and Patriarchs in the cave before I decided that I should go to work and get paid instead of playing a game. No one had dropped a Pristine Yeti Horn yet. I saw that the drop rate was around 2%…this will get some XP to finish the quest. It might be a better use of my time for XP’s sake to move on.
