WoW

I’m back, again

July 24, 2006 By Gitr 3 Comments

I took a month off, and I’ve decided that WoW still has the most interest and gameplay of any of the games I have. I even dabbled in Maple Story, Entropia, and other free MMORPGs. They are either uninteresting, difficult to figure out the controls and UI, or not really free.

I created a new pally one night and got him up to level 7, but started playing Gitr again on Saturday. I’ve got him back to place where he can earn enough money to have fun. All of my toons were dead broke when I stopped a month ago. Gitr had 44s to his name.

I took him to Burning Steppes and started killing the little packs of fire demons in the lava rivers and made my way to the orcs west of the Ruins to get their money and drops. Very soon I had enough money to get a few Heart of Fires and started up with the transmutations. Then I started back up with AH scanning for deals and reselling. It really doesn’t take much when you know what you’re doing.

This morning I logged in with Grimr and transmuted an Arcanite Bar that I sent him the crystal for last night. 4 more bars to go for my Lionheart Helm.

The next thing on my list was continuing my Heroism questline. I looked all over my log for what quest I was working on. Then I went to the king’s room in IF to see where she wanted me to go. She had nothing of importance to say. After looking at the entire process on Wowwiki, I remembered that I still have to do a 45 minute Baron run. SHOOT!

I’ll get right on that.

Gitr’s Engaged!

June 26, 2006 By Gitr 4 Comments

On Saturday I proposed to my girlfriend of 3 1/2 years at the beach. She said, “yes,” and all the usual stuff followed. Nervousness on the way to see her parents, excitement when they saw the ring that they knew would be arriving at their house that day, a nice dinner at a favorite Italian restaurant, and then to see my parents.

What a weekend!

What a woman!

Lack of posts, again

June 12, 2006 By Gitr Leave a Comment

Sorry for the lack of posts, but my ex-roommate, who moved out of state left the cable and Internet under his name when he vamoosed. Under his name, there was nothing I could do to transfer service at our address to my name and cancel cable TV. Friday, it was disconnected with no warning. As much as I’d like to post his full name, address, and phone number, that would be wrong. ๐Ÿ™‚ Very wrong. But it would be fun. Very fun.

I’ll be back online next Saturday when the technicians are first able to hook me up again. Until then, it’s lots of reading, Blockbuster, and sleep.

Looking better

June 5, 2006 By Gitr Leave a Comment

Things don’t appear to be as bad off as they seemed at first. Arguably, $15/mo isn’t all that much, so it’s possible I’ll just take some time off to finish up Call of Duty 2 and check out Second Life. I downloaded Second Life Sunday morning, but didn’t get to play past teleporting to the mainland after the tutorial.

I REALLY need an AGP card, but my motherboard somehow doesn’t have a slot. It’s aร‚ย 2 year old Dell P4 and can’t imagine why the mobo is PCI only. I have an nVidia GeForce2 dual video card for doing graphic design on 2 screens, but the PCI just doesn’t cut it for high-end games. That is waaayyy down the list of priorities, though, so I’ll just have to get my Heroism set with my old card. ๐Ÿ™‚

The sky is falling

June 2, 2006 By Gitr 2 Comments

On June 14th my subscription to WoW ends. “But it’s only $15/month!” Right. I know it’s not much, it’s barely more than taking my girlfriend to a nicer medium-fast restaurant like Quiznos or Boston Market. Once. It’s that I also want to shave $15 off my phone bill by switching wireless service, $10 by getting rid of VOIP, and $15 by not using the air conditioner as much.

This week, my girlfriend came over and started sprucing the place up, married style to see what it looks like, and I must admit, it looks great…even if I do have a pink washcloth in MY bathroom. Granted, everything else in there is stainless steel or gray, but PINK!! Nice touch, actually. Now there are pillows, containers on the counter, a rug in the laundry room, and all kinds of nice touches. I need to marry her NOW. It won’t be now, but I don’t think we’ll wait until the time of year that we were planning on before the big move-out.

So, when I finish up with Call of Duty 2 that her parents bought me for Christmas, I’ll be back to play the expansion. If the Burning Legion isn’t out yet, I’ll go back to Rainbow Six or other Clancy “covert invisible spy” game that I can’t remember the name. It might even be fun to load up the good old Warcraft 2 or 3 for some custom scenarios.

Sorry for the lack of posts. I was in the hospital with some abdominal trouble this weekend. Time to start playing again.
