Ding 26; Ding 27; Dueling Adventures; New Resolution

March 19, 2007 By Gitr 15 Comments

I had quite a weekend, what with my wife being tired and all. I got to play Saturday afternoon and a little on Sunday before my scheduled guild time. More on that a bit later. I got up 2 more levels, got Deadr back up over 300g and to 288 Enchanting, and made some UI changes.

First, and easiest, I changed my screen resolution to nearly double the vertical pixels and strangely noticed a slight increase in my framerate. ~hmmm~ It must be the aspect ratio that was not kind to my video card; some non-native scanning that was driving it bonkers. I used to have bouts of 4-8 fps, but after the change, I never saw it less than 11, even outside. I like it. I like it. So will you, as my screenshots of items and text will be much nicer.

Next, the biggest dueling jerk ever. [Read more…] about Ding 26; Ding 27; Dueling Adventures; New Resolution

Dumbest WoW Moments Ever

March 18, 2007 By Gitr 4 Comments

I almost repeated my dumbest thing ever this morning, so I wanted to see how it compares to all of yours. Last night I reset my hearth from Freewind Post to Thunder Bluff. I logged in this morning in TB to check my mail and get my mats for hunting, and started to hearth about 30 feet away from where I was standing. I did that one time with Gitr in Ironforge. I hearthed from the mailbox by the inn, straight onto the bar of the inn I was standing outside. I felt like a complete noob.

What’s your most idiotic moment, noob?

Comparing Bloodr to Deadr

March 17, 2007 By Gitr Leave a Comment

Something my mind won’t let me do is to let things be. I have to constantly compare things, analyze them to exhaustion, etc. It’s almost an OCD thing, but I manage to get along just fine, despite. I even found someone to put up with it…most of the time.

So, I looked back in the archives to see what Deadr was doing around this time in his levling. It was October 7th that he finally took on Arikara. I just got the quest this morning, so it must be attained atย level 25. Being level 26 tonight will make me want to try it…just once.

It looks like a good method of leveling will be to just stay in the area killing hyenas, kobolds, and harpies.

Almost 26; Twinked With Blues

March 17, 2007 By Gitr Leave a Comment

I sent Bloodr some money from Deadr to have fun in the AH and got some blues. Unfortunately one of them is a gun, so I have to level from 1 to 125 before I can start doing any damage. I had quite a fun time last night in my 90 minutes of playing.

I went to Ashenvale to get some quests out of the way. I got all of the sneaky little elves hiding, assaulted the night elf base (names are totally escaping me today), and wrecked a NE druid that happened to cross my path on the road back to turn in my quests. He switched to cat form to try to disappear. Well, dude, a 24 can only hide from a 25 for so long…as with Track Hidden put him back on my radar. I sicced Catr on his butt, as he chewed him a new one (I love this new term now).

He wasn’t the only one to feel my newly-found mad PvP skillz last night. Just as I landed in Camp Turajo, a 32 Pally wanted to duel me. I never turn down duels now, so I accepted and switched out of Aspect of Cheetah. Catr started doing his thing, and I was trying my best to create some distance. I wing-clipped him and got some room for a concussive shot. Some Serpent Sting, Arcane Shots, and Catr chewing him several new ones, he died. That was pitiful. I’ve got to look his gear up. He even healed himself 3 times. Something tells me he’s doing something retarded if he only has 776 mana when a lowly 25 hunter has 1051 mana.

After that little PvP match, I went back to Thousand Needles to run over to get some Wyverns and their eggs. Along the way, I had to do way too much of this <–…and worse. I think I hadย 2 corpse runs. One time it was that stupid 30 elite rock elemental that snuck up on me, another time it was the second time I ran into Achellios the Banished and his 3 dogs at Whitereach Post. So much for being “rare,” according to my SilverDragon addon.

I darn near ran out of meat to make Catr happy again. ๐Ÿ™ After all that trouble getting to the Wyverns, I only had time to kill 6 of them to get 2/10 eggs before coming in to work this morning. I’m around 70% of the way through the level and I’m out of rest. I logged off where I was because of the trouble and time getting there. We’ll see what level 26 holds.

Feeling Alt/Main Tug-o-War

March 16, 2007 By Gitr 5 Comments

Following the lead of Tomas in his post on Focus, I have some of the same feelings. I have a 63, 60, 38, 26, 25, 19, 16, 15, and several between 5 and 15. That’s 250 levels right there, and over 150 of them are collecting dust on Kargath, where I burned a few bridges in my old days.

I am being pulled on a daily, no per-login, basis to give my attention to one toon or another. Deadr is just dying to make some money, get to 70, see the new areas of Outland, get Lower City and Aldor rep, get in all of the instances for his level, and get that flying mount.

I had this crazy idea to start a new Blood Elf and see if I could persuade (alright, bribe) you readers to join me to roll new toons on Burning Legion and band together to create Buttered Monkeys. Well, my plan worked, and we have 12 members and 14 toons, but I still want to play Deadr. [Read more…] about Feeling Alt/Main Tug-o-War

Ding 25; Spent Time Around Bael’dun

March 16, 2007 By Gitr 8 Comments

I got tired of the respawn rate with the Centaurs in Thousand Needles and went back to the Barrens and picked up a quest from Gann Stonespire, a tauren walking the road near Bael’dun in the far South area. He gives you 3 quests in a chain.

The first is Gann’s Reclamation. It involves killing the miners in the pit that you see running toward RFD. It went pretty quickly, although it did require some timing with pulls because they are patroling and placed pretty densely. I killed Khazgorm before I was done with the kill quotia, and had to stick around for a while.

After turning in that quest, I got Gann’s Revenge. [Read more…] about Ding 25; Spent Time Around Bael’dun
