Myssiamea Is a Noob

March 13, 2007 By Gitr 10 Comments

Big fat jerk. What kind of self-respecting level 42/43 player camps Thousand Needles? A dead one. Muhahhaahhaa. Before I could get Deadr’s butt over there from Silvermoon City, someone else’s 64 guildie had taken care of business.

So much for a nice, quiet night of killing mobs 1-3 levels higher than me in close quarters, only to get shot in the back by a 98-point arrow hit as 2 centaurs are shooting at Catr and me. This didn’t just happen once…or twice…or three times. Yes, 4 corpse runs before I fetched my Great Equalizer. I’m more pissed that she was gone when I got there with firepower. I stayed for a while and helped the other players finish their kill quests by Power Word: Deathing everything with one shot. BANG!! 1,300 dmg…dead. It was so awesome. “I need 3 more scouts, Mr. Awesome Priest,” BANG!, 6 seconds, BANG!, six seconds, BANG! Man, I wish that was a gun…I wonder if Miss Anti-Guns has ever read my blog…hmmmm.

I know I signed up to play on a PvP server, so some of you are probably thinking, “SHUT UP!” but [Read more…] about Myssiamea Is a Noob

Gitr’s GUI Version 1.1 Released

March 13, 2007 By Gitr 3 Comments

I’ve added some new features to my compilation, such as Clear Text and Nudge/Fudge. This one is a bit of a monster download, but I run with about 25-35MB of cache size while I’m playing. The biggest factor is your AH scans with Auctioneer, depending on how large your market is.

Visually, it remains largely the same, although I have switched to Dual-Screen and have moved things about between the 2 areas. I’m leaving this representation up, as it seems to be the one appealing to those downloading the initial release.

Ding 23; Deadr Hits 279 Enchanting

March 12, 2007 By Gitr 14 Comments

It’s been a very expensive week so far. I’ve earned over 2,300g and spent 2,280 of it on more mats and leveling my enchanting. I am at the point now that I’m DEing armor for Dream Dust for 10 dust per shield enchant and selling all of the Greater Nether Essences that come off them and the here and there weapon purchase. They sell for nearly 14g per pair when they drop 2 at a time off a weapon. I sold about 15 bags over the weekend, but this morning, cloth prices were obscene, so I skipped that.

Astranon finally joins the guild.
Bloodr had some help from Sunforge last night in Thousand Needles to kill Snapjaw. I got the quest in Thunder Bluff when I was turning in a “go over yonder and speak to so-and-so quest” last week. We took him down and I logged for the night. I turned in the quest (a level 30, red one at that) and got to 94%xp. Shoooot. I flew back to Thousand Needles to kill some centaurs and found them to give me over 1% per kill. I wish it was always that easy. I dinged, took the elevator back up Freewind Post, re-stocked my arrows, got the centaur kill quest, and logged for work.

I think I’ll play her some more tonight, maybe get to 24.

Enchanting Is Almost Complete

March 10, 2007 By Gitr 5 Comments

I dropped almost 400 gold on enchanting yesterday and got up to 265. The economy that is so nice for making money on the AH is very bad for trying to level a profession in one day. The dusts and essences were so expensive, I had to play a crap shoot with items, with only Enchantrix to help. I got some nice suprises along the way (like a 15g shard in a 2g weapon), but it was a lot of wasted money. I ended up posting a lot of mats back up to sell off to recoup my costs.

Getting to 300 is not going to be cheap. Large Brilliant Shards are 15-17g each, Dream dust is 24g per stack, and Illusion Dust is 38g per stack, of which I will need 9-12 stacks. On a happy note, I was able to DE my Outlands gear for 20 Arcane Dusts (my original intent on switching professions) and sold them for a cheap 20g. I could have made more, but I wanted to get some money back.

For anyone left wondering after a bunch of run-around on the WoW database sites, if you chose Aldor as your Shattrath City faction, you still HAVE to go to Uldaman to get Artisan Enchanting, but you only need to use her up to 250, then you can leave and finish leveling using other recipes from the cities.

Enchanting Is Well Underway; 125 and Rising

March 9, 2007 By Gitr 5 Comments

I didn’t get to play last night because the cable Internet went down. It started with lag (3300ms),  then lost looting of DEing items, then lost chats. Boom. Disconnected from server. The modem light was doing the pissy steady blink of trouble. I went to bed at 9:30, still mad at American Idol.

I saw AMAZING prices of dust, essences, and shards. This is the money-maker on BL. I can tell. After a really good article on enchanting I read earlier this week (somewhere, don’t remember where), I don’t care if I can’t make money enchanting things…it’s disenchanting where the money is.

I haven’t looked too high up the chain, but I saw Greater Magic Essences for 1g each, Soul Dust for 5g a stack, and Vision Dust for 9g a stack. The cost of DEing those is a fraction of that. Sweet. I think I’ll be spending a lot of time in Silvermoon running between the AH/mailbox and Enchanter/mailbox.

A Monopoly on Netherweave Bags

March 8, 2007 By Gitr 6 Comments

When my cohort, Bloodaxel, logged in last night, we chatted for a while on what to do with my selling him bags and such. He wanted me to sell them to him for less. I told him that the 12 bags I just sent him cost me more because the price of cloth was higher last night.

He replied with a loud: “WTF BUYING??!!” He thought I was farming 12 bags’ worth of cloth twice a day, I guess. Sha….right. I have a life! Once he got it clear that my price was determined by the market, he agreed to let me sell them along with him as long as we don’t sell lower than the other. In fact, we are going to buy out everyone lower than x amount and let the other between that price and ours sell out or expire. He said they have been buying them at that price for ages, even when I was low-balling him. This morning, we were the only ones selling Netherweave Bags. 🙂 Now that I’m farming for cloth, my profits should get much nicer.
