I believe I have created the first one-page blog entry of all the current priest sets. I have looked for everything in one place before. I may be wrong that I am the only, or the first, but this one is pretty darn good either way.
WoW 101
Deadr’s New Gear/Loot
It has been quite a week of loot dropping and quest rewards, so aside from the ones that I have already Vendor Trashed, here are my conquests:
Rod of Corrosion
Wizard’s Hand of Intellect
Arachnidian Pauldrons of the Owl
Rotgrip Mantle
Serpentskin Spaulders
Gaea’s Raiment of Shadow Wrath
Vestments of the Atal’ai Prophet
Devout Bracers
Rainstrider Leggings
Archaeologist’s Quarry Boots
Blessed Prayer Beads
Chained Essence of Eranikus
Devout Set, or Not Devout Set; That Is My Question
I bought the Devout Bracers when I dinged 52 for about 10g. I couldn’t remember at the time which was Priest and which was Mage, so I also bought the Magister’s Bindings since they were on the cheap. I sold the Magister’s Bindings yesterday for 35g, a nice 12g profit.
Back to my point, I should be hitting 55-56 before the expansion comes out. With an experienced MC/BWL/Naxx guild, should I even bother running UBRS after UBRS after Scholo for my Devout set, only to eventually get full tier 3, 4, or 5 gear? Would Truefaith Vestments, and other craftable or buyable gear keep me too weak to be usefull in a raid of that intensity level?
Don’t get me wrong, I will still be running those instances because they are fun, but they are a pain, when you have to run them over and over, knowing they are your only hope for a set piece to drop.
With Gitr, I had only gone into MC as far as Garr, and I never did get a chance to take down Ony, so the high-end raiding is completely foreign to me, as far as how gear affects your ability to contribute.
What happened to Deadr yesterday
Yesterday was quite a day for life, the universe, and everything. I stayed home sick from work with 2 main tasks for the day: demand an appointment with my Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist about my cold and to finally order some nasal spray that he prescribed that my health insurance doesn’t cover. The stuff must be $10,000/gallon for how much my bottle cost. Aside from that, I was going to play WoW and try to clear my stuffy head before the football game.
I started out in Felwood and got someone to join my queue for BRD while I was still in-flight. I started grinding the elementals to the north, up in the cave, and got up to 13% before I hearthed and took the zep to Grom’gol. I flew into Thorium Point with no problem, but they advised me that the horde should not fly there. Most horde, I was told, ride from Kargath around the South side of the quarry.
We had a pretty good group and took down names for our lists, and took down Inscendius, the bosses at the Bar, General Angerforge, and Golem Lord Argelmach. We wiped when we accidently clicked a prisoner that caused about 8 elites to storm the cell when we weren’t expecting it. I don’t think it was the guy for a jailbreak, but maybe it was. I was too sick to care.
After BRD, I asked Rhone to help me with the mountain in Un’Goro for It’s Dangerous to Go it Alone and to collect volcanic ash and to escort Ringo back to base. First off, the ash was the easiest. I had all 9 before we finally found Ringo or the path to get up to the top to fight the elite. That was an amazing fight! After 2 minutes, he knocked me back into the lava and killed me. I ran back to my body just in time to heal Rhone, who had him down to 25% by then. He was cussing up a storm, I’m sure…because I didn’t remember that I had a little thing that is supposed to make the fight easy. He said his DoTs were hitting for 23 damage!! On top of that, I didn’t touch the Heart of the Mountain! We have to do it again. YAY!
When I got back from my appointment, I went to Swamp of Sorrows and started the Fallen from Grace questline, but my computer kept locking up. I went into Searing Gorge and Blasted Lands. I got 2 Snickerfang Jowls and a Pincer so far. No one was bothering me, so I think this is where I’ll grind/quest to hit 53.
Ding 52…sick with the cold
Sorry for the short post, but I’m sick. I dinged after running a full Sunken Temple and turning in some of the quests. I still have a turn-in or 2 to do.
Wand of Allistarj rocks
Last night I dropped some coin to get the Wand of Allistarj so I can start wanding sooner to get over the 5-second rule for mana regen. I took it to the Thistle-elementals in southern Tanaris this morning. It was hitting for 95-195, most of the time around 145. It is pretty sweet. I could have used it a few levels ago when I was constantily running out of mana fighting the yeti in Feralas.
I completely forgot to mention my biggest PvP achievement last week. I was on my way to Maradon to help out some people get some quests. I was getting bored waiting for a second person to arrive so we could summon using the meeting stone, so I decided to whack on the centaurs outside the instance with my mace to get my skill level up. I would just bubble every 30 seconds and keep hacking away.
After clearing the area, I got a curse or something on me, and started to see some damage points floating away from Deadr. I whipped around to see a level 51 paladin doing his best to make my life miserable. I feared the centaur and went to work on this jerk. I was level 47 at the time. Needless to say (or not, if I’m recounting it for you), he whupped me when the centaur came back to help him take down my bubble faster.
I came back to my corpse and tried it again, and died again. This time, I’d had it with this guy. I was 4 levels lower, so I was determined to humiliate him. I announced to my party that he was going down this time. This time, I hit him with the plague, vampiric touch, mind blast, mind flays, pain, and wanded to get my mana back. It took a minute or two, but I kicked his butt with 2% health remaining. Just then, my next party member arrived on scene as I was jumping up and down on his corpse in a victory dance. I am no longer afraid of anyone except higher level hunters or warlocks with their voidwalkers out.
