Gunr’s gunning for VC

March 31, 2006 By Gitr Leave a Comment

Gunr went from level 12 to 15 and finished the VC quest line, except wiping on VC. OK, we still had a hunter alive, but the priest had to go. We were done. This post is going to be the first installment of a VC quest line walk-through.

But first, some Priestr news. An annoying world message was up on the login screen, and I knew it was only a matter of time before I got the screenshot of small dreams. Click to get a laugh:

That was sooo classic, I couldn’t help myself. Two funny things I saw were 2 priests with great names: Dwarfmedic and Pheerward. I grinned for a while at both. I also got Priestr’s PvP ranking:

Finally, on the AH front, my deal of a bow FINALLY sold after 2 failed attempts. One, because the AH was down for the entire duration of my auction. At least it was still for some nice coin. I think I paid 2g for it. Weapons selling for 100% profit were hard to come by the last couple of days. It’s a shame, really.

There is some strange world lag going on, and it really freaks out my fighting. At one point, I was fighting a gnoll. It was at the boar when I got aggro. It ran at me, but the boar growled. The gnoll at hitting me, but when I drew my axe to hit it, it said I was too far away. I started shooting, but the boar was visually hitting me, but doing damage to my boar 20 yards away. Here it is half-way through straightening out:

Now, for the VC quest line, but first…. back to work for a while. Come back after lunch.

Gitr goes for the gold

March 29, 2006 By Gitr Leave a Comment

He’s got a whole quest log full of quests to be turned in for gold. I’m curious to see how much “a healthy amount of gold” is. I logged in this morning to check things out, but didn’t get as far as looking at the improved interfaces and final destination flight paths because EVERYTHING was broken. I had the grifs in the middle of the screen that are supposed to be gone from my UI, the buttons were all over, and almost everything I clicked generated an error of some sort with 3 or 4 different add-ons.

I logged in on another server that I won’t mention any more because I kicked him out, but I was nice enough to tell him to disable all his add-ons before logging in. Things ran pretty smoothly for him, but he as quite pissed about the AH situation. Please vote to the right and visit his blog to find out why he’s raging mad about it.

What the heck?

March 29, 2006 By Gitr 1 Comment

So, we all download the patch yesterday, wait for it to install, and the servers aren’t online. And they still aren’t. And they still aren’t.

They had just come up when my GF came over around 8pm to study for a Literature exam, but I didn’t get a chance to log-in before I had to start down the list of essay topics.

At one point, I went to my roomie’s room to see how the weather looks and see what Furious was doing, but he was playing on Uproar.com because the server had only been up for an hour before doing down again.

So I lost one night of playing. Why am I mad, then?

I had over 50g in auctions posted with over 4g in deposits. When I signed on this morning before work, only one auction was successful for 33s and some change. I had to re-list everything. We should get our deposits back for ALL of yesterday’s auctions because no one had a chance to buy them. They must have made tens of thousands in gold yesterday in auctions that expired at their hands. I realize that things may truly have been bad with the patch, but good companies don’t screw ALL of their customers like that without making ammends.

Battlegounds Verdict: meh, maybe

March 28, 2006 By Gitr 1 Comment

I’m not so sure I like BGs as a priest. In my first minute out of the keep, I get a whisper from a warrior asking me if I know how to heal. The answer to that, as you who read all the time is, “yes.” However, at the time, I had my ClickHeal buttons all mushed up over the raid indicators and I couldn’t heal ANYONE. I tried moving each group over, very unsuccessfully because of ClickHeal, until I realized I could move ClickHeal to the left side and let the groups stay where they were. I pretty much told him it was my first minute in BGs with this toon and just look at my Honor if he wanted to see how much time I’d spent there.
So, scratch WSG 1. Next fight: 2 minutes later. We lasted a long time on this one. That would be because the Horde wasn’t all too interested in getting the flags because they were toying with us. They knew they could get it 3 times in five minutes. And that’s what they did…23 minutes into the battle.

The high point of my day came when I opened my mail and found this gem:

Suprisingly, I bought this for 1g 20s in the AH from some poor sap that didn’t have a clue what people would pay for it. I also made some nice coin off of 2 lesser nether essences. Things are going OK in the AH for now.

Welcome one, welcome all

It’s about time I got out of that joint. It was too crowded over at Gitr’s WoW Blog for both of us. This is Priestr central from now on. No more Gitr talk around me, and no more Priestr talk around him.

For those of you just tuning in, here is the weekend update:

Here’s the current status of the guild:

Guild: Bloggers
Server: Sen’jin
Faction: Alliance
Members: 13
loaded 2 (16%)
Level BreakDown
Lvl 01-09: 4
Lvl 10-19: 3
Lvl 20-29: 6
Lvl 30-39: 0
Lvl 40-49: 0
Lvl 50-59: 0
Lvl 60-60: 0
Class BreakDown
Warrior: 2
Druid: 2
Paladin: 1
Hunter: 2
Rogue: 1
Priest: 1
Mage: 2
Warlock: 1

(The banker does not count as a second rogue)

Saturday morning was our usual guild run. We were ready for SFK in Thousand Needles. Our sleepy hunter never awoke to many, many phone calls to get his butt online, so we decided to 4-man it. In attendance, we had:

Aeigelus – Druid 20/21
Vorenis – Paladin 22
Sideburns – Mage 25
Priestr – Priest 26

Let’s just say the action was fast and furious with silencing and shackling, sheeping and shielding. I don’t think I got more than 2 screenshots all morning, but I’ll check when I get home. We had a real battle with the undead paladin boss who kept silencing everyone. Poor Aeigelus was the first and only to die before our last attempts because he’d be tanking the boss while we were fighting the others. I’d get silenced, oops, no heal on Aeig, and he’d die. The silence lasted just long enough for him to go down, then I’d get a heal or bubble on everyone else, and we’d finish the fight.

We made it all the way to the Wolfmaster before Arugal. He had too many protective adds and summoned horrors. The problem with the horrors was that the sheep only lasted 5 seconds on him, before we could get another on him, he summoned a horror. Being the healer, I was #1 on the hit list. So they’d come after me in the middle of a heal. It’d take 5 seconds to get the heal off, my bubble was already gone, and someone would die. I’d put my bubble up, smack the horror, and the boss was back again. We tried twice and realized we needed a rogue, hunter, or another mage to beat that room. We’ll get him next week. All told, I think that 4-man did very well to get that far. It was a great time of getting to know each others’ skills and tricks.
