Ding 28; Paladr Is Gunning for Level 30

September 27, 2007 By Gitr 3 Comments

I got Paladr to 28.5 last night while running a few quests in Ashenvale. Tonight, I’m going to give it a go for level 30 looking around the Satyr area and such. I can safely take on 2 mobs one level below me pair after pair without stopping, but it’s those pesky like-level and one above that get to me.

I looked at the spells for paladins and decided they weren’t worth the trip to UC to train my level 28 skills. At 30, though I truly become a Prot Pally, and I’m really looking forward to it. I was going to get a jump on things at school tonight, but my prof cancelled class, so I’ll get more hours in at the office and have wifey time tonight instead.

I’ll be sure to fill you in on my conquests as an AOE grinder when I get to try things out.

Buttered Monkeys Are Now Recruiting

September 27, 2007 By Gitr Leave a Comment

We are opening up applications to our fine Horde PvE guild of casual to semi-hardcore players. You will get the most grouping attention with a fast-leveling new player or a 30-something or a 60+. We currently do not have any level 70s, although some will be transferring at a later date.

Faction: Horde
Realm: Velen – US
Time Zone: Pacific (-8 UTC)
Classes Open: Priest, Warrior, Mage, Shaman, Rogue, Druid

What to expect:

  • Fun – We play because it’s a game.
  • Help – Some quests just can’t be done solo. Don’t bug people to death for help or with questions readily.
  • Casual raiding – This will all depend on how many members we have and of what type. Most everyone can spare an hour to do the Outland 5-mans every night of the week.
  • Maturity – We aren’t kids and lead busy adult lives. To my knowledge, we are all college to middle-aged and married. If you can’t play every night because of family/work that’s fine. Our only rule regarding that is to try to let someone know you can’t make it if there is something planned and you signed up for it. Simple.

Our application process is easy and painless. Go to https://gitrknowswow.com/butteredmonkeysforum to register and apply for membership. If you make sense and can follow directions, you are almost certain to have fun being a Buttered Monkey.

*Another* New UI; MUCH Less Memory Usage

September 26, 2007 By Gitr 3 Comments

I follow WowInsider’s Reader UI of the week and eagerly await every new UI (and drool over every new workspace). Today’s was no different from the norm. I LOVE IT! It even has the added feature of working. Now, a slight disclaimer is that a couple of the items did not load when I ran today because of the patch going to 2.2, but I didn’t write them down, and don’t care to. It works like a charm and I don’t miss anything that didn’t load. One thing of note so far is that I can’t get the buttons on AutoBar to work at all. I ended up creating a few huge buttons on the left side of the minimap to click for vitals.

Here is my before and after memory consumption:

. NICE!

Okay, I’m sure you’re dying for a look, so here it is at 1280×1024 on a 3 year old video card:

Ding 27; Blacksmithing up to 225/225

September 25, 2007 By Gitr 3 Comments

I dinged last night with the help of Punitor running some tough-to-do quests as a paladin. I got Steelsnap and the 30 Elite gizmo tiger and the 10 eggs before logging.

I got my blacksmithing up to 225 and topped it off until level 35. I think I’ll start recruiting 60+s before I head back onto Huntr for long-term leveling. I’d like to get Paladr to 35 to craft Huntr great gear and for money-making. That will give me a 350+ Tailor, Enchanter, Blacksmith, and 2 First Aids at 375. Oh, and Huntr’s cooking is around 330.

Time to get back to work now that I restored the blog, sans plug-ins.

Blog Barfed on Me

September 25, 2007 By Gitr 2 Comments

I’m sorry, but the blog barfed when I upgraded to WP 2.3 today. I don’t have time to fix it now. I’ll have to get to it later tonight.

ย UPDATE:

I got things recovered, but I had to disable nearly every plugin and restore version 2.2.3. This sucks.

The Funniest Untold Story in Pictures

September 21, 2007 By Gitr 6 Comments

Let’s play the caption game. A friend sent me this, and my mind went wild guessing who started it.

Seriously, enjoy this one. If you don’t think this is funny, you can get right on out of here. I don’t care who you are.
