Gorlash Down! Going into Searing Gorge

June 14, 2007 By Gitr 5 Comments

I downed Gorlash on my second attempt this morning. I was able to get away with a feign death to reset and rez Tiggr for another shot. The second time around, I substituted Serpent Sting with Scorpid Sting and started healing Tiggr right away. I still ended up running out of mana, but the dude had 8,000 HP to cut through.

I’m sitting on 49g with Huntr now, and Bankr hasn’t sent him any gold since he got his mount, so that makes for 40g in killing loot and Vendor Trash in 7 levels. I love having big bags to hold all of that stuff.

I’ve started collecting small pets to put in my bank just for fun. So far, I have a cockroach from UC and the two birds in Booty Bay. To find out ALL of the pets available, check out Warcraft Pets.

Ding 47; Quest Log Is Busting Open

June 13, 2007 By Gitr 9 Comments

I dinged last night after about 5 minutes with 3d 14h 57m /played time. Then it was party time to turn in all of the quests in my log. It was getting ridiculous, with quests all over Azeroth to turn in.

I made my way back to STV to continue several more quests after turning in about 10 of these. I am still missing one part of a 3 item quest for Maurey’s Clubbed Foot, I believe. I have a ring and something else, but I didn’t wait around long enough at one place for the item to drop. Luckily, there is another quest near there for tonight, so I’ll hearth back after I get the item to get the next leg of the quest.

I logged off this morning at 55% of the way through level 47 with barely over an hour of playing time and checked to see that I have over 120g on Velen to play around with. I am getting frustrated with Herbalism and may pick up Tailoring. The only thing stopping me from doing that is having two tailors when I transfer Deadr will be a waste.

What did you do last night?

Pet Inconsistency

June 13, 2007 By Gitr 3 Comments

This is a quick one: why is it that you can’t jump from one level to another in a cave without your pet running the actual path all the way around, but you can jump off a 50 foot high Zep tower and he stays right with you? Hmmm?

Ding 46; Got a Better Bow

June 11, 2007 By Gitr 7 Comments

Ding in 3d 10h 34m /played time in Feralas while hunting hippogryphs. It was a long, protracted battle while fighting for the right to kill things with a Chinese Gold Farmer (named something like Djsajf) who managed to hit level 48 and still had a pet named “Boar.” He was too stupid to realize when I had already tagged 3 mobs. He ended up helping me kill about 10 mobs before he realized what I was doing. I think he woke up and started monitoring his bots.

I got a Sylvan Shortbow from Cawind Trueaim in Camp Mojache, a limited sale item that is better than my crossbow. I got that fully skilled up and turned in 20% of level 46’s XP in quests. Then, according to Joana’s Horde Guide, I made my way to Ashzara. I finished up that stuff for about 9k XP and I’m headed to the Hinterlands for about a dozen quests to get me to level 47.

Ding 45; That Was Quick

June 9, 2007 By Gitr 3 Comments

I only played for about 30 minutes last night and bout the same this morning, yet I dinged 45 after a mere 3d 7h 38m of /played time. This has been the best run ever, and I no longer feel like I don’t have any good gear because I’ve been sending my bank alt stuff the whole time, which got me my mount at level 40 and several blue gear items.

With 45/70 levels down, I’m feeling pretty good about playing hunter for a good long while. I’d have to hit a pretty boring section to want to switch to Paladr again before I ding 60, but I’ll already be in Outlands at that point. We know how hard it is to stop playing in Outlands. It’s like crack on the keyboard. Or something like that.

I logged into Deadr last night and grabbed about 15 Netherweave bags out of my mailbox 3 days before the letters were going to expire. I’ve made that mistake with Gitr before. That sucked. I lost a Lionheart Helm to the Mailbox Black Hole. Sad, sad day, that was.

I finally got my WoWinsider fix yesterday by finding their RSS feed using Google and added it to my Netvibes. As long as the story isn’t continued, I can keep up to date now. /cheer

I’m off to work for a few hours and going to see the $5 pre-noon Ocean’s 13 show with the wife. What’s up with you guys today?

Ding 44; Caliph Serpentsting Is Easy

June 8, 2007 By Gitr 4 Comments

3d 6h 3m /played time using Joana’s Horde Guide. I remember back in the day, Caliph Serpentsting in Tanaris was nearly impossible to find and kill. I have now killed him 4 times because he give triple Gadgetzan reputation in addition to being the highest level mob in the area. I got everything in Tanaris done except for the Shipping Schedule refused to drop and the 6 footlockers that I did get did not contain the Middle Map Fragment. I’m looking for that on the AH.

I’m off to Feralas for what I know to be a ton of quick kill/drop quests, so I loaded up on arrows and flew to Freewind Post last night.

I discovered that I have placed some of my Beastmaster points in the wrong skill, so the next time I’m at a trainer, I’m going to drop my talents. I’m darn tempted to fly to Thunder Bluff this morning.

I found a great pair of gloves on the AH for 50g, and then realized that I can’t use them to the best of their ability unless I partake in BRK’s pet peeve of being a melee hunter. No thanks. I ‘d hate to become an object of one of his WoWinsider posts because of that.

I got over 50% of the way done with level 44 because I was taking on 3-5 pirates at a time and ripping them to shreds. I have reached a pretty good stride with making sure Tiggr hits each one of them before I heal him. Once the heal starts, usually one or two of them are down, and I can take that kind of beating for a time until he gets another one down and call him back for help. It’s a good system and I pity anyone without a 3k HP 4k Armor tank traveling with them. ๐Ÿ™‚
