Business Card Design; My New Venture

April 24, 2007 By Gitr 1 Comment

After getting some more business card designs under my belt, I have decided to open my doors to selling my services in designing and/or ordering business cards, notepads, magnets, and other business media. I can get the product in your hands in one week for priority processing.

If you are interested in getting your name out on paper or online in some graphically pleasing manner, my services are available by contacting me at petersen.jesse@gmail.com about what you are looking for. I will be coming up with a pricing sheet soon. I also do logo design and set up WordPress blogs with basic templates (custom CSS available). 5 Ways to Keep Having Fun Playing WoW

April 24, 2007 By Gitr Leave a Comment

Now that a lot of people are level 70 already, and they are in the grind for rep and for consumables for Kara, I thought it would be a good time to remind people that WoW is for fun. There are several things that I find very exciting about WoW, and when I’m bored I long for those things. I’m back in the “fun saddle” again and doing all of those things again.

  1. [tag]Leveling[/tag] – Nothing is as fun to me as hitting another level and seeing that big yellow column blast up around me and replenish my HP and Mana.
  2. [tag]Questing[/tag] – I enjoy seeing the ? above a head. I can’t explain it. It’s just cool. Plus it’s fun to get new stuff from it that you can’t get otherwise.
  3. Killing tough [tag]Elites[/tag] – I like marking my skill as I progress in my months and years of playing to see what level I can take down Elites. [tag]Hogger[/tag] anyone? I look up on my blog archives what level I took them down with my old toons and see if I one-upped myself.
  4. Leveling a [new] [tag]profession[/tag] – I love getting to 300 in a profession (and 375 in FA) and making the best stuff. New professions are fun ways to keep things fresh, especially if you have gold to burn.
  5. Like #1, [tag]Powerleveling[/tag] – I’ve been there, done that with the classes I know I can play. Now I want to see how fast I can do them. I try to do it without groups, and especially a high-level helper. Huntr has only been in one group: to kill [tag]Kel’Gash[/tag] in Ghostlands.

Ding 22; My Gear Still Sucks

April 24, 2007 By Gitr 12 Comments

Man, starting from scratch has its growing pains. Of course, I’ve been shoveling all of my money to Butterbanker to pay the Guild Tax, which, I can proudly say: We have enough money now! Now for the signatures. RL has been kind of crazy lately, and since I’ve only got 8 of you on my Friends list, I’m guessing you’re all in the same boat. We need 6 new sigs, so if you haven’t signed, I’m coming for you :).

Not really, though, because I’m on the clock, so to speak. Last night, I hit 21 with 15h 17m /played time, which I was totally happy with my time improvement over Frostr’s time. I don’t quite remember where I dinged, but I do remember the fun I had last night doing what I shouldn’t have…

It’s bragging time, so if you don’t like “I’m awesome!-talk,” then skip to the next two paragraphs and ignore this cool screenshot. [Read more…] about Ding 22; My Gear Still Sucks

Reader Participation Monday: Hot Keys

April 23, 2007 By Gitr 9 Comments

Today’s question is: “What are your favorite [tag]hotkeys[/tag]?” I’ve got a set place for certain actions, such as “8” is my horsie on every toon I have. It makes life very simple when I want to get out of somewhere fast.

I have recently been binding the ` key (left of 1) for the Blood Elf racial, but I found an even better use with Huntr for it. While still being a Belf, I found it much more useful to just hit ` than to CRTL-1 to sic my pet on something. It’s saving me all kinds of hand cramps and don’t see me changing that [tag]binding[/tag] any time soon.

For Deadr, ` is a satisfying 1400 point Shadow Word: Death as a finishing move. Awesome.

What are your favorite hot keys? Do you keep them the same across the board on your alts?

Sound off.

Ding 20; Made it to The Barrens

April 23, 2007 By Gitr 7 Comments

I hit 20 this morning, (/played 13h 49m) after I should have done it last night in Deatholme. I made my way through all of the troll Ghostlands quests yesterday morning and then was ready for the stuff around the Southern areas in the evening.

I got him through all of those quests and into Deatholme in pretty good time. We welcomed our newest member into our friends list, since we still don’t have the guild up yet. Huntr was sitting at 68% of 19 and he needed to turn in all of the quests for Deatholme to ding. This was the first time I had been all the way through Deatholme without a single death, and I was quite pleased with myself.

I was waiting for the last of Dar’Khan’s Lieutenants to respawn (for about 15 minutes) and decided that after the entire building repopped twice, he was either on a different timer or he was bugged. I turned in my one quest I had from there and made my way to Orgrimmar. In hindsight, I should have just kept killing things around there and dinged earlier and been right by the trainer in SM on my way to the Translocator. As it was, I had a way to go until 20. Late Friday Funny; Old Couples at Dinner

April 23, 2007 By Gitr Leave a Comment

True story:

Two older couples go out for a nice dinner, but one of the husbands is running late from a previous appointment. When they get seated and the fellow is still not present, his wife says they can go ahead and order now anyway.

“Shouldn’t you ask your husband what he wants to eat?” asked her friend.

“Why should I? I never ask him what he wants to eat at home.”
