Ding 19; 2 Elite Ghostlands Quests Left

April 3, 2007 By Gitr Leave a Comment

I am at 72% of level 19 and have 20,100/21,000 reputation for Tranquillien. Mindkiller joined me for some double-mage fighting in Deatholme. I’m tired. I’m happy. Did I mention that I’m tired?

I really don’t have much to say now, except that I was considering pulling an all-nighter, but I should do the smart thing for the bod and get some sleep before my brain cells shut themselves down sometime around 10:00 in the morning, never to come back online again.

I can’t wait to hit 20 and want to see what those spells are, as I’m saving it as a surprise for myself when I get to the trainer.

Successful SFK Run #1

April 2, 2007 By Gitr 4 Comments

We ran SFK Sunday afternoon like a group of pros, clearing it in 58 minutes with NO HEALERS. There were 2 deaths, and I was a tad overpowered at level 30, but I was very surprised we didn’t have more deaths in massive pulls that sometimes took 2 minutes for the action to die down.

This screenshot was taken after taking out 4 mobs and 3 pats. It was quite a “good grief” moment.

We had a group of 1 hunter, 1 mage, 1 warlock, and 2 rogues. All-out dps, basically, with the advantage of 2 pet tanks. It would have taken much longer to run it if I stuck around and skinned, as pretty much everything in SFK is skinnable.

Astranon got his Robes of Arugal and says that they fit quite nicely.

Ding 17; Revered with Tranquillien

April 2, 2007 By Gitr Leave a Comment

I hit Revered in level 16 and kept going about my business. I got some help from Jikksta to complete the Knucklerot quest. I only have the troll quests and the Deatholme quests left to go, and then it’s on to The Barrens.

I may have to grind a level at some point to get some extra spell damage since I get a good number of resists at times, depending on the level of the mobs that Joana’s guide calls out. Still, I hit 17 in under 11 hours of /played time.

I didn’t get to play all that long this weekend, but all things considered, another 2 levels is fine by me.

Ding 15; Halfway done with Ghostlands

March 31, 2007 By Gitr Leave a Comment

I have completed half of the quest steps for Ghostlands and attained Honored with Tranquillien.

Current /played times are:

Level 14: 7h 9m

Level 15: 8h 32m

Looks like I had some problems with level 14, and you’re right. I think I died 10-12 times doing quests while underpowered as a clothie. I was probably pushing it a bit and not being as careful as I should have been, though, as I’m used to being uber. ๐Ÿ™‚

We are going to MacDill Airfest today, so no playing until tonight. I’ll take lots of pictures and put them up in the photo gallery.

I Want to go to SOBCon 07

March 30, 2007 By Gitr 6 Comments

Iย want to go to SOBCon 07. Who blogs passionately wouldn’t want to be in Chicago on May 11-12? The list of speakers and registered attendees is a veritable cornucopia of knowledge, wisdom, and enthusiasm for life and success. We all want to be successful and to make a difference, and this is a great investment toward that goal. A gathering of minds like this will broaden your view of the world and allow you to focus your energy on what matters to you and your readers.

I say, “Blog for yourself, but don’t forget that people are going to read it. Make it worth their while.”

Find out what matters to others and pour yourself into them. You will not be disappointed in your efforts. That is the start of success. If you love others as much as you do yourself, you will find yourself a very loved, respected, and successful person. We have seen that happen with Liz in the last couple of years, and you can see the people she has encouraged blossom into great successes in their own right.

I want to be a part of that, and I think you do, too.

———————————-

This is what I wrote to Liz Strauss from Successful Blog.com about when she asked me to attend the conference last week. She offered me a discount on the admission price because…I don’t know…I guess it’s something she senses about me and my potential. Two days later, she wrote me again and told me that she found a sponsor for me and the registration is taken care of. All I need to do is get there.

Therein lies the rub. I flat out can’t afford it at this point. I have diligently calculated the costs and what I need to raise.

My flight will cost $180 including taxes and booking fees from Tampa to Chicago and doing the bare minimum, stay at the hotel where the conference is held at the group discount of $130 + taxes, and there is a free airport shuttle. Throw in food Friday and Saturday evening, and it comes out to $350.

Is there anyone in my great readership of gamers and bloggers that would be willing to do one of two things to send me to this chance of a lifetime?

  1. Sponsor me for either the hotel, flight, or a portion of one of them. I have PayPal all set up for donations if that strikes you. Please e-mail PayPal donations to wow.gitr@gmail.com. Any extra funds that comes in will be made available for another, or possibly even a lot of sponsorships. I will pass those figures on to Liz to distribute to more people who answered the call.
  2. Buy Joana’s 1-70 guide toย help both of us.ย I signed up for his affiliate program and would greatly appreciate getting all the sales I need by the end of Saturday 3/31.

What do you get out of this if I go? Glad you asked. I will have my digital camera with me and I will journal my time at the conference and share my blogging/social networking gems AND I will continue to critically analyze Joana’s guide for everyone on Frostr’s journey so we can have a level-by-level record.

UPDATE:

My plane ticket is now being sponsored. Thank you all for that. All that is left to enable me to attend are the hotel/dining costs.

Level 10 Blood Elf Mage Questline Walkthrough

March 29, 2007 By Gitr 10 Comments

Once again, I was stuck having to research via available quests to find out how to get my level 10 class quest done as a Blood Elf. Here is my guide to help all of you noobs out. You should hit level 10 while still doing quests in Eversong Woods, so this is the trainer we will use.

The trainer for the questline is Instructor Antheol at Stillwhisper Pond. He’s the same NPC that gives you the quest to discipline the apprentices. It just so happened out that I was turning in that quest just after I had dinged 10, so I killed 2 birds with one stone.

  1. He sends you down into the pond to dive for a vial. Bring him the vial.
  2. He wants you to fill the vial at Elrendar Falls SE of Farstrider Retreat at 64,72.
  3. He wants you to kill Eversong Green Keepers, those ents south of Farstider Retreat until one of them drops a Living Branch.

Easy-peasy. I had to kill about 12 ents before one of them dropped, but that was the worst of it.

I got a nice staff out of it (no new skills) and moved on with my other quests.
