Level 10 Blood Elf Warlock Questline Walkthrough

December 19, 2007 By PhiLogical 20 Comments

Hello my name is Phil and I am here to today to walk you though the level 10 quest to get yourself the big blue fighting machine known as the Voidwalker.

The Voidwalker is the second summoned demon that you are able to get and the quest becomes available to you at level 10. The Voidwalker does minor melee damage, but is a formidable tank that has gotten me out of some really bad situations let me tell you.

Now I currently am using Cartographer as my map add-on, the coordinates I will be giving work with what ever add-on you will be using. I like Cartographer, however as pointed out by some of my guild mates; I have a really bad UI setup and really need to learn how to set up a better one.

So when you reach level 10 you will need to go to Murder Row in Silvermoon City and go in The Sanctum. (74, 45) It’s the last building on the right hand side before you enter the Court of the Sun. There you will find the Warlock Trainer named Talionia; she will give you a quest called The Stone, which requires you to obtain a Voidstone from the Dead Scar.

Now at this point I highly recommend you visit the Auction House and buy whatever upgrades you can afford. While the mobs in the area where you will be going are only 10-11, there are a lot of them ,so you will need all the help you can get. Also, I would suggest that you go to the inn in Murder Row (79, 57) and make that your home, just for ease of this quest’s completion.

This quest will require you to go into the Ghostlands so, unless you have the flight point, you will have to take the path all the way down. I hear the run is beautiful, especially this time of year! As soon as you cross the bridge going from Eversong Woods into the Ghostlands (48, 11) make a right and go down the river. You will see a small waterfall at 43, 13 and below there you will see a bunch little blue glowy things. Those are the Voidstones.

Once you acquire the Voidstone you will be presented with another quest: The Rune of Summoning. Where you will need to go to the Goldenmist Village, if you just follow the river all the way down to the west you will come to another, much larger waterfall (30, 9) just jump off and you are there.

The building in the center of town is where you will need to go, it is actually the first building you see on the left hand side when you swim to shore. The area is surrounded by the Quel’doei Wraith and Quel’dorei Ghosts and they are level 10-11 mobs.

You will need to fight your way up to the second floor of that building to a little room where the summoning circle is located (27, 15). Now if you die and you very well might I suggest that you try and see if you can rez up on the second floor it will make it much easier.

Now once you have cleared the area of all mobs you will need to stand in the summoning circle and right click on the Voidstone to summon the Voidwalker. You will have to fight him so ensure that you are at full health and mana. Once he is defeated the quest is complete. Now at this point you will need to go back to speak with Taliona again to turn in the quest. Now you can hearth back to the inn or what I recommend you do before that is go down to Tranquillien and get the flight point (45, 30). It will save you a trip later.

Once you turn in the quest with Talionia you will learn a new spell; Summon Voidwalker. He and all future Demons require a Soul Shard to summon.

So congratulations you have yourself a new Voidwalker, or VW for short, also known as the blueberry.

I hope you have better luck with the names than I have had: Juk’gak, Helkrast, and Makvhug.

The Blood Elf Bandit Mask

November 15, 2007 By Growl 9 Comments

These silly things are pretty awesome looking. They are non-binding bits of vanity gear that drop off of rarely found, stealthed blood elf bandits on Azuremyst Isle. Unlike the plain red defias bandit masks that drop off of brotherhood rogues in Westfall, the Blood Elf Bandit Mask is not class specific, anyone can wear one! Alliance players that are patient enough to hunt down these stealthed level 7 blood elf bandits on Azuremyst Isle have a fairly decent chance of getting one. For those of you that don’t know, Azuremyst Isle and the Exodar are only a quick boat ride from Auberdine. Horde players are going to have a tougher time of it. High level Horde rogues and druids can easily stealth their way onto the boat. So if you have a higher level horde main (preferably with an epic mount) you can show up on Azuremyst unscathed and spend your next hour or more tearing around the island hunting these guys.

For lower level Horde characters intent on acquiring a mask – be prepared for either a looong ghost run from the Barrens or Ashenvale – or – you can make your way to Auberdine and let yourself get killed near (or on) the Azuremyst Boat. You’ll likely get murdered again once you get off the boat – so make sure to be doing this little jaunt ‘sans-gear’ or you’ll have a repair bill to go along with what could be hours of fruitless searching.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with Auberdine or which boat goes where. Simply find the inn and check out the pier. There are two boats that have historically docked here. About halfway out the pier is a ‘t’ junction – where the boats to Menethil Harbor and Ruth’theran Village have always docked. The newest boat arrives at the far end of the pier (there are signs – try to look for them if you’re running from the Auberdine guards!)

How to Find Them

There are a number of known spawn points that ring the island. With a high level main and an epic mount, you can cover a lot of ground quickly. Everyone else – best bet is to pick a region and camp the spawn points. Re-pop time on these guys is somewhere between 2 and 5 minutes – with the next bandit appearing at a new location after the last is killed.

Click on the map to see known spawn points and a suggested route to take to find these guys

Azuremyst Isle

Hordies that aren’t uber leveled are suggested to take an alternate routes anytime the path crosses too close to the Exodar 🙂

A simple macro can also help snuffle these guys out. Just create a new macro and type the following:

/target Blood Elf

Put that on an action bar somewhere and just spam the crap out of it as you race around Azuremyst Isle. If you manage to find one this way – stop immediately and start searching in a tight circular pattern until you either see his stealthed figure – or he ambushes you. Either works.

Anyway – I hope this has been entertaining and helpful. For those of you that are hard to teach or resistant to helpful tips – here are a few that I can’t stress enough.

1. These guys are on Azuremyst Isle – not Bloodmyst Isle
2. A mask won’t drop with every kill
3 Others are hunting these guys at the same time you are.
4. This might take minutes…it might take hours.

I killed elves on Bloodmyst Isle for over an hour one night thinking that the masks randomly dropped off the packs of blood elves camped behind Blood Watch. I gained a level in that time and gathered stacks of cloth – but no mask. A little google searching and some patience would have saved me that trouble.

I’ve Got One..Now What?

Wear it dummy! Give it to a friend – give it to a favorite 10-19 battleground twink! Or do like a lot of other folks are doing and sell that bad dog. Prices are variable these days so selling them is still a bit of a hit and miss thing. WoW Econ is showing historical prices on the Alliance side to be running around a 10G average over the month of November, 2007 – though your server economy will dictate. Back in the early days of the Burning Crusade, these cheese-cloth wonders would fetch as much as 25-50G. The fervor has died down somewhat, but you can still make a tidy sum selling to folks willing to pay well for RP clothes or who simply want a unique look on their latest alt.

Matching Robe?

According to some folks – there is another drop available on Azuremyst that makes a great compliment to the mask. The Silvermoon Robe Family are a fairly nice couple of cloth robes that would make any level ALT level 13-20 feel like the best dressed toon in Azeroth. The robe usually drops off of Fenissa the Assassin (rare mob) who can be found around the Vector Coil or Cryo Core (she stays stealthed, but you can usually find her fairly easily.)

Growl’s Experience Hunting The Mask

Growl has managed to nab 4 of these things. I haven’t managed to find one dropping in any one location more than I have the other – so I can’t recommend choice hunting spots. The best bet is to keep an eye out around the marked spawn locations and hope you get lucky. The drop rate isn’t spectacular – but it isn’t bad either. The real problem is finding the bloody belf where ever he happens to be on the map. I’ve circumnavigated Azuremyst for an hour straight and not seen the blighter before. Other times – I’ve had him start stabbing me in the kidneys when I least expected it. As usual with most rare drops and rare spawn in the game – your mileage may vary – and vary wildly.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting!

Paladin Level 20 Quest; The Second Trial

May 7, 2007 By Gitr 18 Comments

I got to level 20 and was totally thrilled with the questline that I got to go through to get a new spell (which was kind of lame) and the start of a quest for a new forged Rare polearm. I can pretty much guarantee you that you will enjoy the quest called The Second Trial.

First step: hit level 20. Duh! That’s what makes it a level 20 quest, but sometimes the obvious needs stating. Knight-Lord Bloodvalor once again sends you on your way to be tested, this time quite a bit closer. You need to travel back through the]Ruins of Silvermoon to the little building Northeast of the gate leading back to the newbie area.

Level 12 Blood Elf Paladin Quest Walkthrough

May 2, 2007 By Gitr 17 Comments

Once again, I’m writing another walkthrough for a class guide for Blood Elves, due to a huge void in the community, leaving everyone to fend for themselves and piece together the process. Here goes:

First thing of note is that the paladin questline does not begin at level 10, as it does for every other class. It’s a level 12 quest, and it begins with Knight-Lord Bloodvalor in the paladin training room in Silvermoon (89.4,35.5). He sends you to a little island NE of Suncrown Village, called the Isle of Tribulations on a quest called The First Trial. On the island is a small cave with just a few wandering Nebulus Guards. You are to kneel at the brazier, meditating.

Don’t even bother meditating, because in runs Blood Knight Sangrias Stillblade to kill you and see if you are Blood Knight material. Of course I am, as I killed him in about 12 seconds. I returned to Knight-Lord Bloodvalor in SM for more questing fun.

Level 10 Blood Elf Mage Questline Walkthrough

March 29, 2007 By Gitr 10 Comments

Once again, I was stuck having to research via available quests to find out how to get my level 10 class quest done as a Blood Elf. Here is my guide to help all of you noobs out. You should hit level 10 while still doing quests in Eversong Woods, so this is the trainer we will use.

The trainer for the questline is Instructor Antheol at Stillwhisper Pond. He’s the same NPC that gives you the quest to discipline the apprentices. It just so happened out that I was turning in that quest just after I had dinged 10, so I killed 2 birds with one stone.

  1. He sends you down into the pond to dive for a vial. Bring him the vial.
  2. He wants you to fill the vial at Elrendar Falls SE of Farstrider Retreat at 64,72.
  3. He wants you to kill Eversong Green Keepers, those ents south of Farstider Retreat until one of them drops a Living Branch.

Easy-peasy. I had to kill about 12 ents before one of them dropped, but that was the worst of it.

I got a nice staff out of it (no new skills) and moved on with my other quests.

Level 10 Blood Elf Hunter Questline Walkthrough

February 12, 2007 By Gitr 61 Comments

I couldn’t find any quick information on who it is that starts the questline to tame my first pet, so I’m making it. I remembered that for my dwarf hunter, the trainer was not in Ironforge, so I figured that the trainer for Blood elves would not be in Silvermoon. Wrong.

Upon reaching level 10, hunters gain the ability to tame their pets, after completing a questline. The questline starts with Oninath in Silvermoon (84,26). He sends you to Farstrider Retreat to speak with Lieutenant Dawnrunner (60,63).
