My Dad’s Motorcycle Accident

April 4, 2007 By Gitr 12 Comments

My dad is being seen by an orthopedic surgeon today after totalling his 2000 Kawasaki Concours Sunday afternoon. He will have his right wrist and his left thumb operated on to repair damage done by the handlebars when he did his aerial acrobatics. Surgery is tomorrow, but a time has yet to be set in stone.

Please send him some lovin’ and check out all of his pictures; fireworks, Katria damage, his bike (in pristine condition), and his lovely random photos. He’s quite the photographer IMHO. Leave a message and put up a link if you’d like.

He’s told me that he will be posting the wreck pics after he crops and color adjusts them for the insurance adjuster. He can’t leave a good photo “good.” It’s got to be GREAT.

Here is the forums thread that his riding partner posted about the wreck:

Jerry Petersen’s COG Forum Thread

If you like that stuff, I’m going to set him up a WP blog on my host for him to post away and keep in touch when they move back to Roatan, Honduras permanantly to run radio station HRGS. They went for 2 1/2 years before, but now that I’m hitched to the most wonderful wife in the world, he said, “meh, why not move back for good?” They need some more support and to get their house sold, and then they’re gone.

Yeah, I was going to give him a hard time about paying attention, but it really happens to everyone in cars and bikes alike. Check the mirror, look back, OMG!! everyone’s stopped. I really like the forum thread and MAN, I can’t get over how nice this comment box looks as I’m typing…and what they were saying about each other and how Dad was typing with one finger. So sad. /snicker. Love ya Dad, if you read this.

Yeah i would have to agree the typing in here does seem smoother. The lay out of the page seems a little cleaner.

Love what you’re doing with the blog Gitr. While it’s still a work in progress each change seems to make things……neater/more visually appealing. Keep up the great work ๐Ÿ™‚

Hey, thanks, Jikksta! I really appreciate that. It’s funny to think about how fast I’ve forgotten everything on the old layout to see if I’ve missed anything. I need to add the social networking tags and the Print This links.

Oh, sorry to hear about your Dad’s accident and I hope the surgery and everything goes fine and he heals quickly. Lucky guy’s heading to Honduras though……is he looking to adopt another son ya think? I have a great radio voice I’m told, and I can make myself luggage size if that helps any :p Resume available upon request!! lol

    Sure! Send away! ๐Ÿ™‚ LOL

I went snorkeling there when I went to visit at Christmas a few years back and it was gorgeous. I should post some photos of West End beach and make everyone drool over the white sand and perfect water. It’s a friggin’ postcard, man.
