Ding 34; STV or Bust

October 10, 2007 By Gitr 15 Comments

Paladr went all-out last night without rest to level and get another talent point. It was a longer haul at the end, but it was worth it to get Blessing of Sanctuary and a couple more spell rankings and… a BUBBLE!!I completely forgot about the bubble while quest/grinding this morning, so I don’t know how good it works yet.

In my effort to get Paladr to 34, I really started going after some Nesingwary mastery quests that were a tad high for me, but they are totally doable because pallys rock. Last on my list was to go kill Sin’Dall for the upteenth time (Mr. Altism takes a bow). He was so easy when you get to heal by whacking, damage by being whacked, and a big heal when I wanted. I think the level 38 Shadowmaw Panthers south of Grom’Gol are tougher.

I killed a lot of Lashtail Raptors 2-3 at a time for good XP, and was wondering what your favorite grinding mobs are in STV. There are so many to choose from, and we all prefer ones that don’t flee or stun, so what will it be for you?

Around 38 I decided to grind the Elder Mistvale Gorilla, mostly because the quest for sinew supposedly had a horrible drop rate. Well I believe I got it after only the 10th gorilla or so. I stayed around for awhile though, they where rather easy to kill.

Yeah he is really easy for being a mastery quest. I am currently trying to kill the jungle stalkers fo rthe feathers and its a horrible drop rate not to mention the fact that the lvl 41’s seem to gravitate to me by resisting Fangs Growl over and over again. I am waiting for another level before trying the Panther mastery 41+ quest, since Deadmire owned me.

I loathe drop quests in general, unless I’m double-dipping the kill quests at the same time, like the Lashtail Meat and the Shadowmaw Claws.

I remember Tiggr having a very hard time holding aggro on those raptors, too. I don’t know if it was that my damage was too high or if they do something to pets, but I had to keep moving around a lot.

I saw the Scarlet boots on the AH for 100g this morning. Since my current boots are blue, cost me 30g, and it will eventually drop in SM, I’m not spending the gold on them. I’ll get them eventually. I could take Huntr in and farm for them if they are that much.

Well my thoughts were I need to kill 10 jungle stalkers hey i need 10 JS feathers awesome, well I had killed 10 JS’s and only had 1 feather now I have killed several more and still only have 2 feathers its a bunch of BS. but if I remember the Necklace you get is well worth it. I know the problem with the Stalkers on pet aggro is that they resist Growl every single time. But being a hunter makes these quests way easier than when I did them with my Warrior.

My mains have always been casters so I don’t mind the mobs that run too much. So in STV, my favourite things to grind on are the Trolls and Goblin Geologists. You need a stack of trolls for quests anyway, and the goblins go down very easily.

Crap… I hit the Back button on the wrong window and lost everything. Anyway, what I was going to say was that I like high density areas now, so look out trolls.

With Redoubt and my armor, I only take 36% of the total damage dished out on me.

I’m very tempted to level up a Paladin myself, especially after reading your comments on how powerful they are. But i’ve only just started my priest and can’t abandon yet ANOTHER character before level 20!

Don’t discount the power of the priest, my friend. Deadr did a number on countless mobs in bad situations. It’s just with Paladr, I go LOOKING for bad situations.

It’s like Sen. Dean at a campaign stop:
    YEEEEAAAAAHHHHHRRGGGHHHH!!!!

Well I’m reinstalling WoW as I write this after I did a full restore of my PC…yeah I had a few problems with connectivity recently.

Probably not the best place to post this comment but I thought it might be nice to join you Buttered Monkeys on your server…room for one more Jesse!?

This is the perfect place for such a request. We’d be glad to have another old fart come over! I love your style from what I’ve read so far and are a sure bet. Us married guys have to stick together.

Go ahead and apply on the forums and we’ll have some fun. We are horde on Velen, which comes out to -8 GMT, I believe. California server. Lance and Phil usually play before their graveyard shift. Now that my wife is a full-time M-F worker, I should be able to schedule some Saturday afternoon sessions so we can all be on at the same time.
