No WoW Last Night

April 4, 2007 By Gitr 3 Comments

It was a pretty bad night last night. I totally wrecked a friend’s laptop when I tried to hook it up to his workgroup at home. Normally that is a huge DUH process…except he was still logging in using the domain at the office. ooops

Nothing worked. I went off the clock because I’d obviously made a serious error and I didn’t want him getting mad. After an hour, he offered to let me take it home so he could eat dinner and give me all of my resources at home.

I went home and totally ruined a new recipe we clipped and had to force ourselves to eat it. The meat was good, but everything in/on it was just not doing it for us.

After doing a search, I discovered I’m in good company. My search yielded a lot of hits. [Read more…] about No WoW Last Night

Mulling Around a New Theme

April 3, 2007 By Gitr 9 Comments

Lance and Tomas, along with others, have noted that comments are getting downright buggy now. I think there must be something in the code for my comments.php, so instead of trouble-shooting that and taking things offline and risk losing everything (AGAIN!), I went theme-hunting.

I hunted high and low for something that will allow me to update my toons’ portraits in a prominent place and also attempt to shorten the page by adding one more sidebar. It is going to take some monkeying around with the margins and padding, but I think I can muster a good layout from this:

Golden Success with Professions

April 3, 2007 By Gitr 7 Comments

I finally got off my writer’s block and came up with something to get some conversations going. Lemme rev up my morning engine and see what comes out.

Yesterday I logged in after work, but before the evening rush and noticed about 30 stacks of Netherweave Cloth for under 5g each. I snagged them all. Yeah, 150g in cloth. I checked the current price of Netherweave bags and saw 6 up for 16g each, which is about 4-6g too much.

I pounced on the opportunity of the low cloth price and the high bag price and churned out 20 bags and 2 Primal Mooncloth. [Read more…] about Golden Success with Professions

Ding 20; Camping in Orgrimmar

April 3, 2007 By Gitr Leave a Comment

I logged in this morning and put out an immediate call for assistance with my last 2 Elite kill quests in Ghostlands. No answer ever came, so I ended up grinding out my last 30 minutes in Deatholme. I trained in Silvermoon and got great new stuff, with more to come when I stop at other cities (slaps self for not stopping in Undercity).

Teleport: Silvermoon

Note: that list doesn’t count all the upgraded spells and Teleports that are currently available.

I really wish that I could have spent some time at my destination killing things before leaving for work, but I suppose that will have to wait until tonight. I need to go to the mage trainer in Org and pick up the teleport, flight point, and a bunch or Runes of Teleportation from a reagent vendor before heading out to my questing area.

Ding 19; 2 Elite Ghostlands Quests Left

April 3, 2007 By Gitr Leave a Comment

I am at 72% of level 19 and have 20,100/21,000 reputation for Tranquillien. Mindkiller joined me for some double-mage fighting in Deatholme. I’m tired. I’m happy. Did I mention that I’m tired?

I really don’t have much to say now, except that I was considering pulling an all-nighter, but I should do the smart thing for the bod and get some sleep before my brain cells shut themselves down sometime around 10:00 in the morning, never to come back online again.

I can’t wait to hit 20 and want to see what those spells are, as I’m saving it as a surprise for myself when I get to the trainer.

Successful SFK Run #1

April 2, 2007 By Gitr 4 Comments

We ran SFK Sunday afternoon like a group of pros, clearing it in 58 minutes with NO HEALERS. There were 2 deaths, and I was a tad overpowered at level 30, but I was very surprised we didn’t have more deaths in massive pulls that sometimes took 2 minutes for the action to die down.

This screenshot was taken after taking out 4 mobs and 3 pats. It was quite a “good grief” moment.

We had a group of 1 hunter, 1 mage, 1 warlock, and 2 rogues. All-out dps, basically, with the advantage of 2 pet tanks. It would have taken much longer to run it if I stuck around and skinned, as pretty much everything in SFK is skinnable.

Astranon got his Robes of Arugal and says that they fit quite nicely.
